WOW
I don't remember the fretless.
I assumed the (awesome) fretted was finished.
Am I wrong, or has that fretted been at that stage of development for a long, long time?
Was the fretless built in the meantime?

At least you have those other-worldy Bennies to tide you over ;).

Haha, yeah, the Bene's were ordered 8 months after I ordered these. I was down to one real bass that I still play (my Zon 6), then the Bene's arrived (amazing)...these, though, I don't think I'll see for a while still. He made my guitar, though, which is INCREDIBLE, so I know these will be killer.

I just got rid of all of my instruments except for one that I play and two that are forever in "the vault", and now soon I'll be back 6 players. Zon, Benes, Shermans, and...ooooo!

The fretted has been like that for a LONG time. One of the Benavente's was made out of the same wood as this one (the katalox, my favorite wood).

The fretless was built out of the original neck for the fretted, and then the same body woods. The top is from a giant slab of bubinga I got for about $200 (it was about $3000 worth) that's a lot more quilted that it looks dry. He made me a free guitar out of it for giving him 20 instruments worth.

I should post up the specs. I guess I should wait until they're done so I can show pics of the back.

Welcome fellow Ramirez man! (Rudyboy98; you're one as well, correct?)

This is no knock on that beautiful piece of wood, but it kind of looks
like mr. smiley face after getting pushed off a 20 story building.

Yes, I am! Yes I am!

I don't like green eggs and ham! BUT>>>I do like:

Ramirez basses! God bless Wilser, he's the best!

Since my last name also happens to be Ramirez, it will also be my Signature Series bass!

Just imagine, I will have to actually develop an Ego! (NOT!):rollno:

Anyhoo, I am looking forward to a great relationship with all of those in the support group.

Hope Wilser doesn't mind us endorsing him!

Is that hardware black chrome?
Nickel?
Black nickel?

Got the word from Alembic on their black hardware:

"Blackened brass is a black nickel oxide plating technique. Recently, the plater has added a hardened clear coating, which makes the color a deeper black. Previously, it was more of a gunmetal color."

So, its kind of "all of the above" :).
I personally like the gun metal better than the deeper black.
It's a first rate look either way.
