Custom Bass Wait Support Group Needed!!!

I've been working on/designing the current project bass for nearly the past year. I am excited that i am just waiting on a drill press [will be buying this paycheck or next] along w/the nut to come in and then it's time to do a first full assembly-and then take it all part and finish it. :D I'm stoked-and that's not even getting into the projects in my head that i wanna build. :)

I'm just beginning a new Hanewinckel. The regular couple months would be fairly painful, but I'm getting some custom Bartolinis in it. . .and that could take forever from what I've heard. Aaaaaagh!

My first Custom fury took a year to get as it was the first bound bass that has come out of the shop.

My latest Custom (see sig) took 6 days. (granted the body and neck were built as a backup for my first fretless and just sat in storage for a couple of years.

I guess I'm a crappy support group. I'll tell you though, those 6 days were hell.

Let's see. I decided a month ago that I need a custom fretless 6 to go with my custom fretted 6. I've talked to the luthier who is on vacation for the summer. So, I won't even be able to officially place the order until this fall. Then I expect that I won't see the bass until next spring.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. :D

Is it another High F 6er! *drool*
I cant wait to see it! :hyper:

I have a Nordstrand on order too. I ordered it from Adrian
in early Feburary and it is in the batch he is working
on now. Its almost finished.
Sorry I suck at posing pics. Some of the spec are..

Alder body
Camphor Burl top
Flamed Maple back
Pau Ferro F/B
3 Pc Neck
Carey's dual coils with matching p/u Covers & knobs

In the last month I lost my Father and my job! :crying: :(
Getting the Nordie has helped get me through some of the
stress lately....well kind of.... :(

I've got a Nordstrand that's due to start in the next batch :D
I've waited since march for it to start though...

thought I'd give this a bump for my own sake. I just got off the phone with the Sadowsky shop. After seeing a bunch of very nice basses over the last couple weeks, I decided I really wanted just a plain ol' natural finish. There truly is nothing as classy or beautiful to me (YMMV) than the natural look of good quality, well finished wood.

The good news is that the body isn't ready yet, so they hadn't started adding any finish or color or anything yet, so no harm or time delay in my mind changing.

The bad news is that the body isn't ready yet, and I probably won't have a bass til somewhere around x-mas time.

Thanks to all the guys at Sadowsky, for being patient with me!!!

And thanks all you guys for letting me vent my anticipation here. I really can't wait to get this wonderful axe.

Placed my order for a Nordstrand in Oct, and I think it will be ready on Oct. I am in the next batch. I love how he shows progress on his site, so at least I have some idea about how long I need to wait. But I know once I see mine started, I am gonna FREAK OUT on someone. Maybe I will just freak out on you.......

hey Dan...I just saw your bass at Carey's this past weekend. Looks nice. ;)

I'm getting a new body, going from passive to active, and upgrading to ultra-light tuners. It's been 3+ months and I don't know when I'll have the finished product. I know he has the new body wood, because Larry called and told me so (Gallery Wood)

For all intents and purposes it's a custom bass, my first and last!
