If you already have a standard, opaque Mustang bass, you could just get a can of clear paint and go to town.
Never remove the p(r)ick guard! Even if it's tort.Lucite bodies: be careful when playing outside. They'll focus the sun's rays like a magnifying glass and set your **** on fire.
Ampeg made a line of clear lucite guitars and basses back in early 70's, or late 60's, Dan Armstrongs, I played both the guitar and bass versions and they did not sound great, but they were very fast. Lacked tone. Curved Air, the British prog band from early 70's, played them. Heavy too.
