Thanks. Tomorrow is not a paint day. Tomorrow is hang out with a drummer and jam day. Second get-together. Rhythm section only kinda thing. Thank goodness for iPods.

Nice! My guitar player couldn't make tomorrow work so my practice cancelled. Nothing quite like hanging with a drummer and making some wonderful noise :bassist:

It will be more construction for me, but like you said, thank goodness for iPods.

Tomorrow is band practice for me. I took last week's practice off to celebrate my wife's birthday, so I'm pretty antsy to go play.

Tat, you do deserve better than that. I hope you do find someone that truly makes you happy. My name is Aaron, by the way..

My bass teacher hooked me up with this drummer. It's a "you need to play with others" kind of thing. The drummer and I clicked. Mostly we work on timing, that locking in thing, and figuring out how to play off each other. It was fun the first time. I'm hoping it will be the second.

I don't need a guy to make me happy. I'm pretty happy on my own. It's more like, I finally hit this spectacular place in my life, but now I have no one to share it with. And, sharing it is important to me.

I got stood up. Worse - at 2PM the date was still on. But I haven't heard a word - and I kicked off painting at 4:30 to get ready - so on top of having hurt feelings that I got stood up, I've lost nearly six hours of painting time on my remodel. And....I turned down three other invitations to do something this evening.

So...probably nothing you can do - unless you would like to help me paint all night to blow off steam. Or care to come put him out of my misery. Thank you for asking, though.

I'm so sorry Tat. he is an idiot.

You know that the men of CWB all know that you rock. (And of course I'd help you paint if I were nearby.)

I don't know if he's a good drummer or not. But I figure that my teacher wouldn't have sent me there if he sucked. LOL.

Pumpkin is okay. Pecan is better. Custard with nutmeg is heaven.

I think my drummer is pretty good.

I'm a fan of pies in general. Pecan is high on the list of favorites. However, I will pass a pie up for a slice of blackberry cobbler..fresh from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top..heaaaaaaaaven!!

Our band hasn't practiced in a couple weeks. Not sure it's really a band anymore, anyway. Kinda fell apart after one small show. We didn't officially call it quits, but it's pretty much over. Last weekend I drove to the drummer's house and we hung out, had a couple beers, and just talked/hung out. The rhythm player had car trouble, and the lead player had an emergency surgery on his arm, so it was just me and the drummer. This weekend the drummer said he couldn't play because he had to work. Next saturday is my daughter's birthday party, and sunday is Easter, so no practice then, either.

I have two other opportunities to leave this group and join others. But neither is ideal, I guess. Both are startup bands being fronted by experienced people. One is a Blues/Roots project playing some covers but mostly originals. Guy seems nice, but nothing's established. The other is a heavy metal startup fronted by a guitarist/singer and also doing mostly originals.

Really, I just want to fall in with a cover band, to tell the truth. I thought one of the local bands here that is popular might be something that could work.....the bass player left the band as a performer and is working as the promoter/agent.....which would be awesome, I know all of the songs they cover, and they're a lot of fun, I actually know all of them and I'd fit like a glove, but the lead player decided he's moving over to bass and they want a new lead player. I think they're set on this move.....although I know I could drop right in on bass for them and be ready to go in a few weeks. But it's not what they're looking to do, based on their advertising for what they want.

At this point I might consider the metal/hard rock band. IDK. It might be fun......maybe?

Cobbler isn't pie. Blackberry cobbler is to die for. Fresh berries. Flaky crust. That really big grind sugar sprinkled on top. A splash of good bourbon floated on top of the bowl and set on fire. Keep my ice cream on the side, so it doesn't get all melted. Scoop the ice cream, scoop the berries. Sigh happily.

Lol..I know cobbler isn't pie. We had tons of blackberry bushes behind the house when I was growing up, and my mom would have my brother and I go pick berries so that she could make a cobbler for us. Picking the berries sucked, what with all the thorns, but the promise of an epic cobbler made it worthwhile.

BSB, have you heard the metal/hard rock group? I almost auditioned for a metal band back in November. They didn't tell me what sub-genre of metal that they played..turned it out it was metal-core..blaaaaaah. Point that I'm trying to get to is this: if you like what they are playing, go for it.
