CWB 14: Whiskey and Beer

Disclamer: crap video, headless player, drywall compound on the hands, still wearing my Dr. Marten work boots w shorts. It really would have been best left recorded w/o video :)

That's really good!! Makes me feel less than mediocre after watching/listening to that (I have to remind myself that I've only been playing for a little over a year).

Furry, the guys in To Wong Foo are much better dressed than I am.

DT, thanks and you sound really good brother. I dig the fact that you keep playing and hammering out vids. I check them out all the time. Nice work for being new to bass. My family is musical. I have always been a visual artist and made the friggin most awesome mistake of picking up a bass when I was 20 and I've been hooked ever since. Keep doing what you are doing. I enjoy watching you rock out so hard that your monitor shakes!

I'm glad you said that - I have to call the screen printer on Monday. I have the trifecta art over there to make up CWB t-shirts. They started out as Christmas gifts and I had to swap screen printers because the first one flaked out.

You'll be disappointed with the vid for fashion reasons. However, I regularly dress like there are no mirrors in my house. Seriously, I'm getting a tshirt tomorrow. Suggestions welcomed.

I wear a shirt almost every day with something on it...

DW drums, Gretsch drums, Zildjian cymbals... etc... I must have over 50 different ones.

Jackie rolls her eyes sometimes, but she loves me anyway.

This actually helped me find a band once... Jackie and I we shopping for tile when we were redoing the house. The first time we went into a particular tile store I was wearing a Slingerland shirt... the owner of the store noticed it and we started talking about music. It turns out that he was playing in clubs as a solo singer/guitarist. We jammed together and it jelled. The store owner is Bob who is the other half of the duo Feral.

Disclaimer unnecessary. That was beautiful. I'm super grateful that this is not a web-cam forum. I'd be forced to turn mine off so I could hang onto the illusion that I'm a tough little cookie.

your shirts had too much mojo for the first printer.

It would be akin to having someone handing you the legendary beard trimmer of Chuck Norris.

Thanks a lot for that! My grandfather was musical and I was always musically inclined, but was too afraid to pick up an instrument. I expressed myself with visual art when I was growing up (drawing/sketching). I still sketch from time to time. I wish I had picked bass up when I was younger, instead of at 37, but oh well, I am having a blast.

Never to old to start man. What kind of drawing/ sketching do you do?

It's funny that I went to school for Art and I'm an Art teacher, but my passion is bass. I do enjoy drawing and sculpting, but my knowledge of music is well, I'm just learning to identify notes on the bass clef. So music has always been the bigger challenge, and probably why it is so much more rewarding.
