CWB: Hey 19

Hah!

Actually, the only place that I can ride like that is at the track, otherwise it's a royal pain in the arse. My track bike's riding position isn't as aggressive as it used to be.

How it looked shortly after I bought it

After putting different bars on it. I also have different rearsets now that are a little lower and farther forward.

this weekend there is a dyno shootout at a bike rally. Metro PCS also wants to use my bike for promo purposes at that same event... so I should be busy There isn't another harley in the area that is even close to mine in power, so I expect them to put me against a local turbo GSXR. I have to make sure I have an extra bottle of giggle gas. The injection map for the skuzy was set up by a friend, so I know it is going to be tough. If they just go top end power, I will most likely lose. If it is a simulated 1/4 mile run, I have the advantage. I am running a 129 inch engine (2,113 CCs) with a 45 horsepower nitrous hot shot wet kit. If I had a little more time I would have the 139 incher in my bike (2,300 CCs), but such is life. I am still over 200 horses at the rear wheel, so I expect it to send a lot of other bikes packing

I got talked into turning my little trump into a bobber.

actually, the bass guitar I've been playing most lately is the '51 P reissue on the far right, on which I swapped out the original pup for a Seymour Duncan P single coil replica:

then I just scored a '62 P RI with the split coil off a fellow TBer, no pix yet, it's in the shop getting set up with big fat flats and the action high.

I have no right to have a GAS list...

But I'd love to score a 51 reissue!

it's just a slab of wood with minimal electronics. It's not unlike playing a drum. Like I said, I swapped out the original pickup - couldn't take the hum. It's excellent for blues and country. But it's got a couple dead spots from a musical viewpoint. So I'm going with a '62 RI with the split coil and seeing where that leads me. But by all means, love the '51 reissue - it's an excellent el cheapo bass. Would be a good battle-axe too in an emergency.

I started playing drums next to this exact bass in clubs when I was 16. (1975) Without me realizing it, this bass became the "sound in my head" that I was trying to emulate.

I've always loved the look of a Jazz. When I got serious about bass a couple of years ago I played everthing I could get my hands on. Eventually I figured out that Telecaster basses/Precision basses have the sound that I love.

I'm shallow, I like the Fender style body buuuuuut I need to try and get my hands on one of those...I love me some PJs too...

The B55 like you have is active too isn't it? Blah...though I suppose you could bypass the pre and wire it up passive during the electronics swap...

My Aerodyne is a Fender PJ.

It's on the right in this pic.

Only the pre-amp is active. You could very easily wire it up to be completely passive.

That's not an Aerodyne is it? Aeros have a Jazz shape body and the silver top hat knobs no? That just looks like a photoflame P Special. Maybe an older Aerodyne?

Nope, it's a regular Fender Aerodyne. They were offered in red, blue and I think black. I forget the year but I think it was built in 2007. CIJ. I bought it new.

Ah my mistake, I just googled it now. I was completely unaware that they made Aerodyne P Specials...that's pretty badass. I'd only ever seen or heard of the Aerodyne Jazzs so I thought they were just called the "Aerodyne" model....either way...sweet bass!

hey all,

Quick link to a tune we did on Friday's gig. Hope you all dig it.

Nothing special, just a chill groove. Aries Rising is the trio, but when we play w Richard we are Post Modern Ensemble. Bands and all their silly names.

Figured I'd share a pic of this CWB since we got to play out at the county swapmeet this weekend.

I've got a hot singer-babe too, but that's her hubby hidden behind the drums :-) They're cool though. Neither of them mind my flirtatious redheadness.

We had a lot of fun and the weather was unbelievably nice for this time of year in western WA

Rock on! Flirty redheads fit right in here. :D

No..wrong there... motorcycles are cooler.

well at least some of them are...the guys riding with their heads down and butts up are questionable...:D

Meh, whatever. My van is a room on wheels, and while you cycle guys have the awesome power of vibration, well, I have an entire room on wheels...and, well, you know...shelter from the rain, sleet, snow, bugs, small birds, large flying objects flying from the back of trucks, alien brain wave stealing rays, rabid attack weasels, non-rabid attack weasels, zombies, and vampires. :D

Oh, and I can easily transport my bass with it. :p

I'm wondering what song you played right before this one. The Fodera must have enjoyed it a great deal as demonstrated by the shot of sunshine that it left on the wall behind you. :p

You could do some serious DB dragon slaying with that bad mama! :D
