Cycling 2013

I've got a Brompton S6L for my commuting in NYC. I really need to take a few pics of it, but it's the Raw Laquer finish.

My daily commute is a 30 mile train ride, then it's about 4 miles in Manhattan to my office. It's the perfect bike for taking on the train since it folds up so small. I'm really enjoying it!

Mine is the Vic Lee London edition (hence the weird bag and livery), its basically a S2L with a few added features like colour matched mud guards, brooks sadle and handles, livery and a bag. Its a cool bike and I only need the 2 gears for London since west/east commute in London is basically flat.

Are there many Bromptons in NYC? They are pretty popular in London.

What's this about too cold to ride?

I rode my Felt fixed gear all winter long. My drivetrain is shot but I got in 40 miles commuting a week, saved gas, didn't kill the earth, kept my legs in okay shape, etc.

First time trial of the year last Saturday. This was a no-aero time trial (booo!!!!!). I abided by the listed rules, although I had to take off my shoe covers because they were too aero. I was annoyed that these weren't on the prohibited list.

It was a 12 mile windy course with rolling hills and a few punchy climbs. I managed to have a 22mph average which only gave me a mid-pack finish. I was kinda bummed with that. I think I'm a bit past peak and will need to use this week as a rest week. Next bunch of races aren't until June.

Got the full results of the time trial. There were some Cat 4s and Cat 5s that would have done extremely well in P,1,2. Still, NOT happy with the results. One of my local TT rivals put about a minute on me. I have about 5 weeks to get my ass in gear.

Next up is a 24km ITT on Sat and a 64 mile hilly RR on Sun. Skipping the Sat afternoon crit due to the length of the RR.

I just started riding again on Monday, but the chain got stuck between the hub and cassette, and I think I damaged the wheel trying to fix it. I'm gonna try to take it to the bike shop this weekend. But anyhoo, here's a pic of my totally unimpressive ride.
