This made me think of the daughter's actual response to that statement. It's in here:

This is the father & daughter responding to everyone's comments.

Interesting. I retract my previous statements.

Btw, I have pretty much gone after my parents just like the daughter at some point of my childhood. Except I always told it to them to their face. I remember one time being in so much trouble after cussing out/yelling at mom, that my dad was the one to talk to me later. He talked in a calm and collected voice, and told me, it's my life, I can choose what to do with it, but I have to accept the consequences of what I did. He then proceeded to go over what I could expect once I have my ultimate "freedom" out in the real world by going over taxes, job stuff, raising a family and what not. Yeah for a 15-16 year old it was scary as hell, and I learned my lesson.

I bet the girl did too. Or at least to take her laptop with her to school haha.

I was amused by the backpedal though.
You mean backpedaling from my opinion that the father and the daughter are infinitely better positioned to comment on this incident, its aftermath, and their relationship with each other than you are?

But by golly, go on believing that there's deception going on. It would be unfathomable that you could be completely wrong about someone else's daughter that you've never met.

I think it's interesting that you toss a phrase like "moral outrage" in my direction when I couldn't care less about how someone parents their children if they aren't breaking the law (and even then I honestly don't care if it doesn't affect me or my family) when clearly you have more of an emotional investment in this bit of news.

As for the backpedal comment, logic dictates that either his daughter really is the lazy and ungrateful child in need of a dramatic lesson as he painted her in the video or she's the wonderful kid he claims her to be in the aftermath but not both. That is my point.

That's right, it is impossible for a teenage girl to mysteriously be an angel at one moment and a devil the very next.

What's the word I'm looking for? Oh, yeah...

Sounds like this 15 year old girl can roll with it better than the Talk Bass knitting club.

Ooo, you're so butch!

Well, he's telling us what her comments are in as self-serving a way as possible. And don't forget, nobody would be in a position to comment on any of these things if he hadn't filmed himself shooting a laptop and posted it up on YouTube as a wonderfully proportionate response to his daughter's friend-restricted Facebook gripe. To then plead surprise that YouTube videos occasionally go beyound their intended audience shows a remarkable lack of knowledge for someone who works in IT.

But by golly, go on believing that there's deception going on. It would be unfathomable that you could be completely wrong about someone else's daughter that you've never met.

...as could we all, including your good self.

And yet, in the entire video he doesn't make a single positive reference about his daughter and instead paints her as consistently lazy, ungrateful, disrespectful and disobedient. I didn't think this thread was about reaffirming the obvious truth that teenage girls are capricious - I thought it was about a bratty girl getting her well deserved comeuppance. And again, if that is the case how does it make logical sense to claim that she's a good kid?

I think we've about hashed this one out.

Anybody want to make a Nazi reference before I close this? Anyone?

Ok, we're done.
