D'Addario Black Nylon Tapewound

Looking to string my P Bass up with a set of Black Nylon's after watching Invalid Link Removed I'm looking to get a sound close to Geezer Butler's tone from the Paranoid album. I know he endorses Black Beauties but I don't care for them too much and Flatwound strings such as Chromes have too much tension for my liking. Would this set of strings come close?

Just to follow up. I put a set of these strings on my Matt Freeman P....WOW. They feel awesome on the fingers, sound great. Def going to continue with them for the long run.

The history: I'm considering to buy a handbuilt fretless fiver. It was equipped with very old set of rounds from other fretted bass. Nevetheless, 4th and 5th string sounded very good -- lot of sustain, great tone.

When I put DA Black Nylons on it, the situation got opposite: high strings sound great (I didn't expect so bright tone), but 4th and 5th strings now sound unfocused and don't have enough sustain and fade out very fast.

Is it a common problem for these strings, or it's a problem with my particular set?

I just put a set of these strings on my Sterling Ray 34CA FL fretless tonight and am absolutely IN-LOVE with them! Just got on the MF site and ordered two more sets! They're SO silky smooth that my fingers slide effortlessly on them. They are mellow, yet have some punch. So I can go from perfect "mwah" to thumpy upright tones wonderfully. I dunno why these strings are not OEM equipped on all new fretless basses. I'll probably never try anything else from here on out on my fretless. Just what I was looking for!
