D'Addario...Flex Steels?

Sure, your link clearly says circle k builds a hybrid of nickel and steel (probably Nickel plated steel)
Probably more like Invalid Link Removed or Invalid Link Removed or [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] but sure whatever  such a big difference.
D'Addario clearly reinvented the bass guitar string here, hats out to them.

damn kids and their sudden interest in flexible strings

Circle K / Kalium strings are actually nickelplated steel outer wrap over steel inner wraps, the current CKS site is not clear about this. Enough said on that subject :)

Prosteels are my string choice at the moment, my interest in flex steels depends on a choice of single strings in steps of .005 and down to .028 or prferably .025.

Hmm.. I saw these as well and was curious. In terms of comparing to ProSteels, it looks like the FlexSteels are about 2 lbs. less tension per string.

I wonder if the somewhat negligible difference in tension plus the hex core will make a noticeable difference side-by-side..

There could be more difference in construction that isn't reflected in the numbers, but changes the feel. Two hexcore steel strings of the same tension from different manufacturers or ranges could feel quite different.

I think SS Lo-Riders prove that out for sure. My 130 Lo-Rider felt a lot tighter than my ProSteel 130 on the same bass.

I will probably try a set of these just out of curiosity.

My guess is these have stronger thinner hex cores for more flexibility, and i am hoping for a smooth steel wrap for a change from the prosteel surface. The tone/feel chart they have released seems to suggest prosteels have a deliberately rough 'textured' surface? ... for more *zing* in the tone
Very surprised to read this based on your posting history in the string forum.
:D indeed ... i am enthusiastic about CKS' innovative approach, but i only play steels and certainly cannot afford international shipping for my small and frequent orders of singles. My only link to them is that i have communicated with Skip on the ERB and bass forums on and off for 10 years, discussing string tensions etc.
