D'Addario...Flex Steels?

Cool - hoping to get in there by the afternoon Friday - do you know your booth number?

I don't have a booth. My market is the public not really other music merchants. I will be there having face to face meetings with the manufactures I represent, getting first hand looks at new product, and best of all hopefully making special buys that I can offer to my clients. NAMM is basically my time to spend a lot of money :D

:bassist:

You can text me 818-569-9215 - I'll be floating around the place all day but in and out of meetings.

Cool will do! I'm sure I'll be hovering around the Spector booth for part of the time.

No dont get me wrong i do like em they sound very good me and especially with my style of play. I was just saying they seem a tad textured than prosteels . I think once i get used to them they maybe my string of choice. But lets see with some break in time. I will say i like daddarios continued progressions on new strings.

Have you tried the La Bella RX Stainless? They are a bit smoother feeling than the D'Addario's and still sound great!

Finally caught up with the video. I like ProSteels and still liked them in the comparison but the FlexSteels sounded great as well. I wasn't sold on the LaBellas at all - but that's a completely subjective tone preference. Having got used to more flexible strings with Circle Ks, I may well give the FlexSteels a go when I next need some strings.

Jason, I currently play Dunlop Nickels and Steels. I like them quite a bit as they are relatively low tension.

How do they compare? Thanks!

If you're comparing to Flex Steels, I can't comment or at least not until I put the set that just arrived on a bass.

IME, I wouldn't say the Dunlops, at least the nickels, are low tension. I just put a set of nickels on a jazz and compared to the DR Sunbeams, DR Nickel Lo Riders, and D' Addario Balanced Tension sets I find them much stiffer.

I just got 2 sets!

First set I opened and installed:

Anything look interesting? Hmmm.

They feel as flexible as the Nickel balanced set I took off.
