D'Addario new for 2013 thread!

Sorry...I meant extra long

That gets confusing I KNOW!!!

The good news about the new D'Addario XL Nickels is.............

They have a new longer winding length!

From the Back of the ball end to the start of the taper the new XL Nickels are 37.1" (Front of the ball to start of the taper is 36.825")

So these will fit a wider variety of instruments now where they older versions did not.

It is best to measure your instrument from the back of the ball end to just past the nut to figure the best winding length needed for your instrument.

Just got a set of balanced tension 40 to 95 and they are are amazing. Usually it takes forever for a set of new strings to sit right on my bass. These were excellent right out of the box. So much so that I ordered 4 more sets at a killer price. I've made the switch

I just threw on my set of balanced tension strings as well and LOVE THEM. Great feel evenly throughout the board. IT's Great.
I think i'll be making "the switch" as well.
Good bye Ernie Ball's, hello D'addario.
Now all I gotta do is find the half wounds and flats balanced tension and i'm set.

SO CLOSE! They only need .125" more and they'd work on a Dingwall. Hell, even just make the B strings that much longer.. or maybe .25" just to make sure it completely crosses the nut before tapering.

They make a. 125 in super long with a 38" winding length.

Wait my bad... Thought you were talking about 125 gauge...

D'Addario extra long are 38" which fit some dingwall models. I know some require a 40" winding.

Does anyone know which D'Addario Nickel B string would pair well with the EXL170BT set (107 80 60 45)? I know the 135 B string is not 40lbs like the strings in the new balance tension sets.

Jason....just a quick question regarding the D'addario Nickel XL's i ordered the other day from you...you mentioned the length now has changed to 38" ...correct?

thanks Jason...for all your help!!!!

They XL nickel long gauge are now 37.1" from the back of the ball end to the taper. If you measure from the front of the ball end to the taper it is 36.825"

Also, Do Daddario make a @92 gauge?..(tension of @ 33lbs?)or is it just a 0.90 or 0.095".....also, do they make a higher tension 120 gauge...@ 31-33lbs? (B-string)

Thanks again!!!
