Guys, I wish I was trolling but there is a ghost in the machine and I will not release an inferior product. May could still happen but it will be tight.

I currently use it through a Sunn 200S replica (2x KT88) that has a preamp gain potentiometer added. No problems, I almost dime the master and gain is between 2 and 3 (of 10).
That goes into an Ampeg 6x10 HLF. --> BOOM!

I also tried it through a Musicman HD130 (solid state preamp and 4x EL34) into 2x 15" (same thing: Master almost dimed, Gain very low).

right on, the Sunn sounds killer. I’m using a Crown XLS1002 power amp, and switching between a NerdKnuckle HD130 pre, a broughton SV-Pre, and an Aion TS-50B pre pretty regularly.
So far I’ve preferred running the curmudgeon in front of preamps and the spite box after.

Following up on this, I ended up pulling the trigger on this MBD-1. Used it through a headphone setup at home last night and it reminded me of how much I liked the MBD-2 when I had it. Looking forward to using it at rehearsal on Friday. Not sure if it will replace anything on my main board yet but it's nice to have these tones back in the dirt family!
