Yeah for sure, the texture of the dirt isn't abrasive or anything, and will probably blend well while keeping your bass thick and nasty

So, I bought the stupid Steel Leather because of all y'all. I can at least get a capture of it on the Quad Cortex...
Can confirm it storts.....admittedly just messing around with the pedal alone at home, but the range is pretty awesome. Playing w/ a franken p-bass I can get close to an Antenna era Scofield tone (think Youth Overrided) with depth and gain down, and a pretty cool approximation of Heliotropic by Failure with both knobs cranked up to 3/4 or so. It's a steal at $139.......and it's staying on the board right next to the MBD. Do yourself a favor and go get one.

Just remember the magic is keeping the Effect Level knob under 9:00.
This is interesting. I hadn't considered using the BPD for Cave In tones. It'll be great if it can approximate the 'Seafrost' sound. I've tried with the Fuzzrocious Secret C, which is an awesome pedal, but all the internal trimmers make it super tough to adjust/dial-in with my setup

Yeah tbh it almost reminds me of the depth charge fuzz (my favorite fuzz) with the gain cranked - just full on beat ya over the head dirt.

I also have a Secret C and it is awesome, I think a lot depends on setup......in the past I had an Emperor 4x10 and the Secret C was great through that, but maybe a bit too aggressive through a class D head w/ 2 neo 1x12" cabs. It's just really great how the Power Distorter can be so varied with just tweaks to the depth and drive controls.
Wanted to give a shout out thanks to DA for fixing my broken pedal switch. I took it to a local guy. He put a latching switch on it and told me that he ordered it directly from DA and that there must be something wrong with the pedal since I had to press twice to get it on or off. He charged me $25 for it. Said that was how much the switch cost. I won’t be going back to him.
So i sent it in to DA and it was fixed immediately and without charge. I am glad to have my MBD2 back. So thanks!

Bogus on that "local guy". That's disappointing as hell when something like that happens. But DA are awesome like that. They stand by their products and are always quick to fix issues. I've had that with a boutique builder here and there and they've come back with "it's going to be a $75 bench fee right out of the gate". I get you need to get paid to do your work. But when its a defect like a bad switch, you'd think they'd just fix it free and have you pay shipping one way. Idk, maybe the builders like DA have spoiled me over the years

Also a shoutout to Dave (@whoismarykelly) at BSRI and also DA. The LED on my Sick Set Dude boost pedal stopped working. Sent it down and Dave fixed and returned it super quick. Great guys these two.

I liked what I've coaxed out of it so far. Cleaner playing with higher drive settings would be good but that's not my specialty. Low drive has been a lot of fun, running it Omnicomp - Rusty Box - MBD3 - BPD. I have it set for a little more drive and a bit of boost, a different flavor than how I've got the boost set on the MBD.
However, I recorded some into a demo from my band and I couldn't tell even when I turned it on in the mix and set at unity. Not a bad thing, though, especially since my existing chain is set to cut through the mix like a chainsaw. It definitely didn't take away from anything.

I didn't have much time, but I started with the drive and depth at minimum and just matched levels and was somewhat blown away. I was immediately slamming 8th notes and it resembled the tube type of breakup that I often go for. I didn't feel a need to add depth but wowza is there more than enough low end on tap with the depth knob. I could see this as being the always on grit / fundamental tone. It just sounds natural and not like a pedal got kicked on.
When the drive is kicked on high it is thick and nasty. Noon through max reminds me of my favorite bass modded DOD250 circuits that I have tried, for lack of a better comparison. It's definitely its own thing and a great contrast from the no-drive setting I started with. These would be great to set as low gain / high gain, which is why I would like to thank past, impulsive and overindulgent me for ordering a pair of these on release day...and the day after. I can't wait to hear how they both sound in a band context. Well done @father of fires and @whoismarykelly !!
