Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

Tracking for the BPD updated over the weekend. Mine's scheduled to arrive tomorrow🤞.

...In the meantime, the Halberd + DirtMixer smokes. Its still my favorite combo with the contour blend. I like how reducing low end clipping by backing off the Depth, and then mixing in clean lows reshapes the drive. Sounds punchy and growly. The added dual band-ish size and heft is also a plus.

Alright, here's it being used tracking for a demo with the band. I'll add spoiler covers over the time stamps if you want to try and figure out when it is on. I am going to do some takes with higher Drive and Depth settings after the Colts game.

SPOILER:
BPD on :09 - :47 and 1:09 - 1:33

I'm not really hearing dirt, but the bass feels more "there".
Like a presence thing.

I don't really hear a difference, but I'm only listening on terrible computer speakers. Need to dig out my good headphones for a proper assessment. Wonder if it will be similar to my experience with the Blower Box and Musket in that they sounded incredibly distorted out of the mix, but blended in completely and sounded "clean" in the mix? Whatever it is, though, the band and tone overall sound great! What's the signal chain when the BPD is off?
I am DEFINITELY digging this thing.

An 800RB and 810 setting - a man after my own heart! I'd love to try one of those (actual) rigs in person! Though I'm not disappointed in my 700RB-II and 410 rig by any stretch. (And I'd LOVE a reason to hook it up to both of my 410s someday...)

That was the first bass tone I fell in love with. A practice space had an 800RB and Ampeg 810. To this day it's my preferred bass tone. I had an 800RB preamp pedal made for me.

I have 2 of the "GK Rails Pedals" that simulate the power section - I've always debated getting one of the "800RB in a box" pedals, but if I'm going that route, would also likely want a cabsim and headphone out to go with it! I've debated getting one of the Dicosimo Audio 800RB pedals, as it seems to have everything minus the cabsim/headphone out - including an FX loop. I could basically run my current rig directly from that pedal instead of an amp, which is quite tempting.

EDIT - Not my current rig - a 700RB-II - but the same basic setup as my current rig, but with an 800RB. I use the FX loop for a few pedals, so would want that feature in any "amp in a box" solutions I use.

Yeah, that makes sense. The Master Effects Super 800 started out as a custom build for me. I don't think the Dicosimo was available at the time.

It does sound heavily distorted on its own and I really like the sounds I've gotten out of it so far. My always on chain is Omnicomp > Rusty Box > MBD3 >RFE > Quad Cortex (East STMP > Broughton Silver Deluxe > 800RB > Shift Line Olympic SVT 810 IR)

So far so good, add a lot of OOMPH to my fuzz.
Is it me or does the paint on DA pedals chip easier than before?
It barely touched another pedal and white is coming off, just like the newer MBD. I know, its only esthetics ...

Loving the reports on the Storts. Damn I wish there were a mini (1590A) Damnation dirt pedal. The additional MBD-1 for high gain for recording went over so well that the BL wants me to add a second dirt pedal to my board for this purpose. But all I have room for is a mini pedal. I'm gonna check out a Mosky Black Rat and see if that can do it for me.
