Danelectro longhorn question.

Ive been wanting a longhorn for sometime and I found this clip.

I love the tone he is getting out of it and I was wondering if this is close to the standard longhorn sound or there is alot of tweaking going on.

Yeah, that's what she sounds like... Tight, punchy, authoritative grunt... Of course, there is some amp EQ going on, but pretty standard... I'm never letting mine go again!

My friend's got a gross green dano that he calls the snotty. It looks like crap but sounds excellent.

Yup that's one of it's tones.

I prefer mine with flats or nylon tapes.

Am i missing something with these,all the ones ive seen seem to be under the 400 euro mark,is their a more expensive version i havnt seen or are these things just incredibly good value

Perhaps you're thinking of the Jerry Jones Dano look-a-likes which sport adjustable bridges, alleged better build quality--and higher prices.

There's nothing alleged about the build quality of my Jerry Jones' being much better than any original or RI Dano I've ever owned or played. It's a fact.

It's also a fact that the JJs are more expensive than the RIs but I've seen originals go for more than what I paid for my JJ at the time.
