That's a lot of Darkglass distortion you have there!

Nice Board!
I saw your pedalboard. Wanted to ask you about the B3K and the VMT on the same board. Are they different enough to justify having both? I have the B7K Ultra and the Super Symmetry, with the Ao on it's way. Have room for the Duality and the VMT (don't want another Ultra or another DI). But it seems to me that the VMT might overlap the B7K Ultra in functionality. What say you?Mine has shipped from SW!
Now for the compulsive tracking......
You have no Hell in the afterlife.Ordered my second Micron today. There's no telling when my first one will arrive. The folks at Fedex couldn't give me an ETA or anything. Just said it would sit there until they either decided to open up the trailer to deliver everything in there or when their warehouse was repaired. So I called my rep at SW and bought a second one to have shipped via USPS, and he will issue me a RA for the other one once it arrives.

Thanks!Absolutely. The B3K is much more modern, and can get very crunchy if you want it to. A real square wave top end. The VMT is much more subtle, like running up the gain on a preamp. Warmth.
With the B3K, I have to be careful of how I set the toggles, depending on the room. Sometimes the "grunt" can cause it to disappear in my mix, sometimes it brings it out. Just depends on what else is happening in the room. But it's a great modern distortion, with its own range of jaggedness.
With the VMT, it's like I'm just digging in and getting that warm overdrive. I can leave it on all night, or punch it in for a song that needs some middy drive. I'll usually work the Era knob to find the right frequency for the night.
Both have pretty wide ranges, but I would say they only overlap slightly, at the top end of the VMT drive, and the bottom end of the B3K.
Now that Duality on the other hand, I have trouble taming that beast. When I first got it, I sent it back to DG thinking it was defective, but no. That thing is monstrous so you have to use it sparingly.
I'd say go for it.![]()

....snip....
I will say the AO can be closer to the VMT or B3Kwith the AO and Mid controls. I'd be more concerned about overlap there, at lower gain settings. Not that one is able to replicate the other, like twins, but they are closer to close cousins.
