Darkglass - Alpha Omega

I'm not familiar with the B7K either, but with enough messing around can you essentially get whatever blend amount you want and have the same volume on/off?

It's pretty simple actually. If you set the blend all the way and level all the way down the pedal is mute, so setting unity level on the distorted side is extremely easy (then a 50/50 mix is achieved with the blend at noon).

FWIW I never had trouble getting unity gain from my B7K, but I typically set it for low gain OD so maybe that's why?

I simply set the Blend all the way up, tweak Level to match the bypass volume and then bring the Blend to the desired mix. It takes 2-3 seconds.

Kind regards,
Doug.

I also found my B7K to be louder than unity when set to minimum blend. Either bump all the EQ knobs down a bit to act like a makeshift master volume, or simply increase blend and decrease level.

I do love your pedals Doug, but would much prefer they had a more traditional blending setup (blend + master or individual volumes)!

I myself had a bit of a struggle when I first got my b7k a few weeks ago and still isn't at unity gain as I was reccommended by a fellow tber about setting all my eq settings equal notches back because flat is like 10oclock and found it altered my tone so I didn't go that route and just adjusted best I could with blend and level(I'm still a hair off unity)
@Darkglass when bringing blend back into the desired mix meaning turning counter clockwise from fully clockwise doesn't that start adding more volume ? I'm happy where I'm at now as I use my b7k as a clean pre and feed my vmt into it as well as some compression but still bugs me I cant achieve perfect unity with my desired eq settings.

Edit: I added a pic of my board to see my settings and right now drive on B7k at 9 for a bit more bite kinda Geddy tone but usually have it set around 7 and toggle vmt on and off for various styles as well as adjusting drive on B7k. It's when I turn the b7k off volume drops a tad and wish I could fix that.

Received my AO yesterday, so far I've only been able to run it into my DAW and not an amp but this thing is gnarly! Lots of control and many different sounds contained within. It's like what I always wanted from a high gain fuzz pedal, but with the definition, tweakability and bottom end to work with my preferred gear and applications (low tuned prog metal with active Jazz basses). Can't wait to bring it to band practice and dial in a tone through my amp!

Lucky you :(

I was too busy deciding what compressor I wanted because I was getting one at the same time, finally decided on one and went to check out and the AO is out of stock, damit! I could just order one here in Australia but it's an extra $40 thanks to the classic Australia tax.

Bad that Prymaxe does not sell Darkglass, sometimes they make really good discounts. Do not worry, I think they will do a second shipment soon. Just pre-order maybe, so that you are safe ;)
