Hoping mine will arrive by the end of the week. It shipped last Thursday but it's still in Germany, most likely due to the Easter weekend. Can't wait to try it! And I have a couple of shows the following week so it will get it's first live test then :D

It is literally this easy.

I think maybe what causes a lot of difficulty for people is the fact that the drive circuit has very specifically sculpted mids, with a notch in a very audible part of the bass's midrange, so it's messing with perceived loudness, as we all hear mostly in midrange.

Struggled with this myself for quite some time. Did a crapload of recordings to test things out, and found that to match up my perception of the mids between on and off, my drive sound was literally twice as loud as my clean sound.

But then I tried things in a mix, and found that the frequency that got notched out wasn't all that audible to begin with, but the frequencies that were emphasised by the B*K drive circuit both popped out/cut through, and filled out the low end juuust right.

Made it a lot easier to achieve unity gain volume-wise, and get over my brain making a big deal out of those (eventually inaudible) mids anyway :D.

Also, to stay on-topic a bit better... I am GAS-sing for an Alpha Omega HARRRD. I'm hoping to be able to get one around the end of May. My birthday's May 27th, so that should definitely help in acquiring the means to this bodacious end.

Never been a fan of 'signature gear', but this is just too good of a pedal to pass up.
It helps that the Alpha Omega as a pedal doesn't literally have anyone's signature on it *cough* .

On the note of signature, I was curious and looked for the "Simple Boy" sound. It helps that I'm using a Warwick Thumb but MAN it's spot on. I took that as a jumping off point and started crafting my own sound and its just...beast. I feel like this pedal was made for my rig now.

I was about to say, if the B7K was "made" for Dingwall, this was "made" for Warwick. I think it truly shines there, probably because that's a key element of the sound needed for the sonic palette of the Stockman tone. I may be incredibly biased right now because I haven't really touched my bird (heh) in a few months, the strings are pretty dead and I'm running through the headphone out on my OmniCabSim but here's a small sample of the Mod at 11:00 on the Alpha side. I apologize in advance for the lousy demo



It's still monsterous in person. It's still quite a different beast than the BXK's for sure.
