Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

Heres my mini-board I just finished setting up šŸ™‚ 3M dual lock for all mounting. Sticks like concrete… šŸ™ˆ Stuck with DC7 because I can use it between this board and my QC board, and it has a USB output for charging my wireless transmitter.

I'm finally pulling the trigger on the Anagram and will be putting together a similar board but probably using a Nano+ so that I can add my Strobostomp ahead of the Anagram. I just can't get rid of that tuner for some reason.

Can you please guide me on how do you power GLXD and Anagram by DC7? What are those cables combined together? Looking for same setup
Gladly, brother!

Get yourself 2 of these Cioks Parallel Adapter cables…

and put them together similar to this to give it 3 isolated power outputs providing the power the Anagram needs:

Then just one more standard power adapter to connect the Shure.

That’s it!

The DC7 probably more than you need for such a small board. You can also use the Cioks Sol which is slightly smaller and fewer power outputs but all you need.

:)

Can confirm this. Just remember to always use at least 3 of the outputs of the Cioks DC7 or use the Cioks Crux + DC7.

The Anagram will power up with less amperage, even with a single output of the Cioks DC7 at 12v, but that won’t support steady performance.

Went to the studio yesterday to grab a load of captures done at the best quality I could before I part ways with a bunch of gear.

Just running into the issue of ā€œError, Incorrect Lengthā€

Which obviously means my captures are a different length to the sweep. Only they’re not so I don’t really know what I’m doing wrong.

I can dm someone the link to the raw captures if anyone wants to have a look and tell me what I’m doing wrong.

I’ve had happen a few times. It was a DAW issue, if i remember correctly.

i think i was exporting the audio track instead of bouncing it

Hi, can any of the Anagram owners comment on the octave effect on Anagram?
I have a DOD Meatbox on my pedalboard and I'm wondering if it is possible to create a subsynt-like sound with Anagram. I used the Meatbox for synth like sub-bass sound, playing 1 ocave up on my bass and having the pedal only play 2 octaves down to get the meaty sound. I'm thinking maybe the Anagram with only the octave down (100% wet) sounds thick enough if I play low notes but I haven't found good videos on youtube to show this off.

Things like the Meatbox or the Mantic Hulk are pretty easily recreated in Anagram. Grab either SubLemon or SubLime (I prefer SubLemon), and then turn the filter cutoff way down, if not all the way down. Instant Mantic Hulk vibes, which is very similar to the Meatbox. My experience with the Meatbox was that in addition to the massive sub lows it also had a grainy texture that felt like distortion somewhere in the circuit. The Anagram's octaves won't do that on their own, but if you feed the settings I described into one of its distortion blocks set on a relatively low gain and low blend you'll be able to get something comparable. It probably won't be exactly like your Meatbox, but it'll be close enough for functional purposes.

Hi everyone, I want to introduce Anagram Answers, a new unofficial Darkglass Anagram community forum and reference website I have created for us owners of the Anagram, and others who are considering buying one. It is intended to be an Anagram specific community that will hopefully become another useful resource for all. Please check it out and register for a free account. Hope to see you over there!

Hey Scott, the photos of the Cioks parallel cables were something I had been looking for to add to the Wiki write-up I did on this topic (because it gets asked so often!). Do you mind if I use some of these photos and credit you for them? E.g. bottom of this page - https://www.talkbass.com/wiki/anagram-power/

Absolutely! :)

One small correction though. I just realized I took the pic of the underbelly while I still had the voltage set to 12v for my QC supplying only 1.5 A with these cables rather than the proper 9v @1.98 A for the Anagram. My apologies!

Hi everyone, since updating my Anagram to the latest firmware 1.6.1, I’ve encountered several issues that are affecting live usability. Here’s a summary of some things I have recently reported to Darkglass Support.

Hopefully this can be addressed in the next updates, otherwise I’m planning on going back to using a Quad Cortex for live shows.

1. Freezing/Hanging: The unit has frozen 2–3 times in recent weeks, rendering the screen and buttons unresponsive.

2. Memory Errors: I’m seeing intermittent ā€œmemory overloadā€ (or similar) errors when switching presets — these same presets worked fine prior to the update.

3. Bluetooth Audio Lag: Audio playback stutters or drops out when adjusting knobs or using the touchscreen. I understand Bluetooth audio is still in beta, but this significantly impacts usability.

4. USB Audio Routing Bug: Output block settings for USB audio aren’t behaving as expected. Even when Output 3 is set to carry only the guitar signal (with XLRs disabled), USB audio is still routed or leaked through to Output 3 that is connected to my guitar amplifier.

Expected behaviour: Ideally, USB audio should be routable only to XLR or headphone outputs (or both at the same time), similar to the existing Bluetooth routing settings / options.

Hi Tino, sorry to hear you've been having issues!
I have collected the problems you listed and will also forward them to the team.

It will be interesting to hear what the Darkglass Support say.

One quick question - what power supply are you using? The supplied Darkglass Anagram 9V DC or something else?
