Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

I'm probably doing it wrong but - VMTD, Super Symmetry then the rest of pedals then the M900 using the B3K switch.

There is no such thing as doing it wrong with pedal order. Whatever works for you is right.
I've had my M900 for two weeks now. I've got some great tones now - it is exactly what I was looking for. I've got a clean tone with the mids right where I want them. I use that for playing at home. For gigs, I've been using a little of the VMT overdrive to warm it up on stage, but I'm still sending my sound guys the "pre" signal, so my stage setup is built to help with note definition a little. I've found that I like cranking the Gain knob quite a bit more than my old Markbass LMII.
It's a great head. My MarkBass head is officially retired now. It served well for nine years, but this head is more flexible, has pre/post, has a Mute button, has two built-in distortion circuits, and has more juice. A nice improvement overall.
Hopefully Darkglass issues some lightweight cabinets in the near future. I'm still using my Markbass 2x10 and 1x12 cabs. They are good, but what I really love is the form and functionality of them - they are light and have big non-spring handles on the end that you'd have "up" if standing them on their side vertically, which works great for easy carrying one-handed, plus the top recessed area is nice for putting twist-ties, keys, etc. And they fit in my hatchback, LOL. If Darkglass issues something along those lines, count me in, I'll be an early purchaser.

The only thing I wish was on it that is missing is a headphone out (and aux in).

Agreed. I work around it with a simple interface setup but I do miss being able to do that with my TC Electronic amp.The only thing I wish was on it that is missing is a headphone out (and aux in).

sorry seeing if anyone has found an out of the box solution as opposed to drilling holes to make it fit. you don't want me anywhere near a drill!
Played with the microtube 900 for a lil bit. My LowEnd LEJ with Aguilar J's matched up pretty good straight out the box. My original stocked LEJ and LEPJ with nordstrands, I had to mess with the mid section more. Not a big drive person, but if I had to use one, it would be the B3K over the vintage. This amp has nice low end! Reminds me of my Kern preamp. Still up in the air about keeping.
Well, after playing on a gig, I've decided to keep the amp. I enjoyed what I heard last night. Nice tight low end that filled the room.
That's what did it for me too, hearing it in the mix. I guess that's what always does it for me though...
Interesting...Would you mind telling me how it compares against the Puma 900 Mike?
Specially in terms of max SPL or perceived volume, tone, eq versatility and low end...
I'm thinking of swapping my Tecamp for the Darkglass, but there's not much info about this...the 2 ohm capability and distortions in the Microtubes 900 are a very nice plus.
I've a bit of a weird problem. The amp is too loud.
In rehearsals, I need to set the volume extremely low to balance with the band, but at that levels it feels as though 1) the amp isn't "breathing", the tone is significantly different, and 2) just touching the knob a little changes the volume drastically. I'm thinking I should get an attenuator or something

You could also run the amp in 2 ohm mode to get less wattage into a 4 or 8 ohm load.
Finding an attenuator that can handle that much power is going to be hard, heavy, and expensive...if you can find one at all.

The rehearsal studio my band uses only has a large ampeg fridge. And I only own a 1x10 cab. I tried switching modes but oddly enough I didn't hear a significant diff in volume ._.
