Dealing with Borderline Personality Disorder

Ouch.
To quote my favorite superhero, Superchicken, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it!"
Kudos to you for reaching out with love and acceptance. That's the only game in town, and it's a slow process. Hang in there.

...first time I've stepped into this thread, and I'm both glad and sad that I did.

I'm not going to offer you any advice right here or now, because, well, the subject is far too broad for me to be able to offer anything of any real use. But, I have quite a bit of first-hand experience with psychological disorders, 'interesting' formative years, good and bad crowds, psychiatric drugs, and street drugs.

So if you'd like to hear about anything more specific along those lines - like maybe how to identify and combat a concealed drug habit, for instance - not sayin' your girl is using, just an example - then please do feel free to PM me with an email address, and I'll be happy to share my experiences.

Good luck!

I know that there are "non-BPD" support groups (for people with relatives/loved ones with BPD)... I also know that living with someone with BPD can range from occasionally difficult but manageable to downright hellish and impossible, depending on how severe it is... "Stop Walking On Eggshells" is an excellent book for non-BPD people who are struggling with the trials and tribulations of dealing with a loved one with the disorder.
