Deals you got on a bass or bass equipment that were UN-BELIEVABLE

I just picked this up for $85.

Sure it's an inexpensive bass made in Asia in the '80s, but man does it sound killer. It puts a MIM Fender to shame. It's practically weightless and plays like a dream.

It's got some bumps and bruises. But that just adds to the Mojo.

Plus, it's a good modding platform should I decide to go that route.

Did you ever buy a Bass, amp or piece of equipment that you couldn't believe the price you paid for it? I have been lucky in the sense that I shop around and always try find the best deals.

I bought my rig and my latest bass used. But got them for under half of what they're actually worth new(and in perfect condition) I also managed to track down a guy who was great at building pedal replicas. And built me a replica of the roland ap-7 "Jet Phaser".

The rig- Ashdown Abm 900 head with an ABM 810 1200 watt cab. Price new- about 2 thousand euro. I got it for 800 euro. The guy was moving to England and had to offload the rig, as it would cost him a bomb to ship it and he didn't need it.

Replica of the jet phase- 150 euro. I know it's not the real thing. But the Jet Phase is a very unique pedal. If I wanted to buy the actual pedal, it would have set me back about 400-600 euro(I've seen the price vary on this one)

And finally I am buying a warwick streamer Jazzman(Left handed). I am picking it up next week. Am dying with anticipation on this one. As haven't had a new bass in 4 years. Am picking this up for 730 euro. They retail new for around the 2,600 euro mark.

I have been lucky, the bass especially, being left handed, there is hardly any good basses in the shops. There's 3 main large music shops in Dublin(capital of Ireland). Waltons, music maker and X-music. And between them all, you might find a squier or an sx lefty starter bass in each one, and one fender precision left handed for each. I'm not sure if it's as bad in the states and other Countries around Europe.

Have any of you guys got deals you couldn't believe yourself?(or the ones you thought hmmmm too good to be true)

I traded a wishbass that I paid $355 for new + a crappy double bass pedal for drums for a fender American deluxe p. Best deal ever.

Also, got a brand new, in the box markbass little mark 3 from GC for 350. Dont ask me how.

Fender Kingman bass for 200.. Theyre 500 new..

Ive gotten plenty of great deals. Too many to mention.

If that body is solid wood, you may have something really nice to work with... the body has sort of a Will Lee shape (or something... I can't put my finger on it, but it doesn't appear to be a regular Fender J shape) but looks like it might take a Fender neck. If I were you, I'd be all about replaceing the PG and moving the neck pup into proper position and getting a better neck for it.

Back on topic: My offering is my very first bass- an 80s MIA Precision for $125 in 1990. I trraded it for a Peavey Patriot within a few weeks because the neck was just too wide for me at the time.

Me & several other TB`ers got the Dean Edge basses from Amazon back around November. Quilt top 4 strings with dual Bartolinis for around $170. I also picked up a Dean Jeff Berlin via Amazon for $150. They were great basses and made great trade bait !
