The Dean Edge 4 that you have is a 2011 model.
It was made at the Korean 'Un Sung' factory.
That factory closed production in 2015.
Other Edge 4 bases were made at the Korean 'World' factory.
Here are letter designations.
E = World Factory in South Korea (Old designation)
US = Un Sung Factory in Inchon, South Korea
WK = World Factory in South Korea (New designation)
And welcome to Dean Club!!!thank you sooo much
Welcome to Dean Club!!!
Member number 214 is all yours if you like.
@Bassist59Hey! I want to join the Dean club. I barely qualify because I own the cheapest Dean bass ever made, a translucent brown/black “Zone” Edge. Unfortunately, I melted the satin finish when I came home from camping and got my bug-spray/sunscreen coated arm on the body.
Yeah, guys wash up before playing!
I have an obsession with one of these:

I’m not going to leave this thing stock. No, no, it has potential with one of these installed!

Copy that! Now that I’ve been assigned #215, I might get booted if you see the current condition of my Dean. I had to tape over the pickup screws because they were cutting my fingers. Then I removed a couple of tuners to use on a different bass. It’s in disrepair right now. That being said, I intend to re finish it in a metallic black this summer.
I’m pretty sure it was called a “Zone”. I bought it in 2007 or 2008. It was about $130.00 or so. I’ve got an old clip of me playing it....it looks like just about every other Dean bass still made:
I’m gonna see if I can pull up the ancient emails that were sent way back when I ordered it. I’ll pull it out soon to take a photo....it’s in sad shape right now.
Believe me, no one’s booting out anyone who’s bringing a Dean back to life...not here anyway
Here’s a Zone XM
Here’s an Edge 09

Different body shape and different horns.
Can’t picture how the screws in the pickup and the bridge could be cutting you? Never heard of such a thing. I own 85 basses and only ever experienced some sharp fret ends on either side of the fretboard on some Glarry basses. I own 41 Deans never experienced a sharp edge that might cut me.Got it, thanks! I was just kidding around. I do feel bad for messing the bass up so bad, though. I really played and learned a lot of music on it, though. The pickup screws were cutting me as was some sharp edges of the bridge. I had to get medieval on it and cut and file bridge pieces.
The Metalman series has grown on me, especially the V. With just a few upgrades, those could be fun, unique instruments.
Take care.
I really like Dean necks, especially with the thin satin finish on the back of the neck.Got it, thanks! I was just kidding around. I do feel bad for messing the bass up so bad, though. I really played and learned a lot of music on it, so it didn’t just sit in a closet unplayed, that’s for sure. The pickup screws were cutting me as were some sharp edges of the bridge. I had to get medieval on it and cut and file bridge pieces.
The Metalman series has grown on me, especially the V. With just a few upgrades, those could be fun, unique instruments. I can see right away they share practically all the same hardware.
I also just built sort of a 5 string version of the Metalman Z bass from a kit. The issue with kits is the finish. It is hard to get it perfect in the garage with spray cans.
I’m noticing the hardware on the low end guitars, basses, and kits is pretty much he same cheap stuff. I think a new low end Dean with some upgrades would result in a really good instrument. Mainly because the fit and finish is excellent, the flaw is the cheap bridge and plastic nut.
