I kinda like the 'black' effect you did on this. Wonder if anyone makes black mat knobs that would fit without a fuss? Here's my Paramount, with a few alterations: knobs, screws, Hipshot bridge and ultralite tuners, Gotoh string tree, and EMG GZR pickup. Yeah, the parts cost more than the bass

While on the subject of multiple strings...
Here is Dave’s impressions while dialing in an ltd 8str bass.
(Basically like a dean)
That's a great picture by the way!

@Darth_Linux , while I was 'away' I had passed along some information through @TheBassmaster27 (who did a great job keeping things going). However, I did not get to compliment you on this very fine looking Jeff Berlin signature bass. It is like it was in a time capsule. Simply gorgeous. I think @Ronen , who also has one, would agree.
Brand new with new preamp? The Dean EAB is on sale today only $169.
Musicians Friend stupid deal of the day.

I must be Psychic!

I enjoy mine, but it’s a big acoustic bass body with a lower bout of 18” and a body depth over 4”. Some players have problems with playing a bass this size for extended periods of time. The Dean EAB is on sale today only $169.

This model has a new active preamp instead of the previous passive electronics of previous model years.
I play it sitting down and use a pick so I think it’s a bit easier in my case for my right hand.I'll second that. I've got the fretless version. It took me a day to wrap my head around how to play it. I settled on resting my forearm in the top waist cut View attachment 3802814 and plucking at the neck joint.
Yeah, it is definitely more forgiving if you use a pick.I play it sitting down and use a pick so I think it’s a bit easier in my case for my right hand

I've got to say, for as cheap as mine was, it sounds great. Playing it pizzicato right at the neck joint really gets close to an upright vibe. I don't get many calls for acoustic gigs, but when I do I really love bringing this thing out.
They are in the 8 to almost 9 pound rang. You can usually find used ones for $100 to $150Question for the Dean club -
I struggle with back and shoulder problems. Physical therapy has helped a lot but can only go so far. I was thinking of buying a short scale bass but someone recommended the Dean Edge 09.
My question is that although a 34" scale instrument, I have heard it is lightweight and very easy to play. How much on average do these basses weigh? I play a Jazz bass which kills me at 11 lbs.
My wrists are in good condition and have no RSI of any sort. I normally play DR Sunbeams which are super easy to play.
Thanks in advance.
They're not horribly heavy. I've had lighter basses than my edge 09, but most of those basses weren't very good. You can get a fairly light bass of high quality, but you'll pay more money. Heavy doesn't always mean good tone, and light doesn't always mean poor tone.Question for the Dean club -

I’m looking to trade a maple fretboard Paramount bass neck for a rosewood fretboard Paramount neck.
