Although I have quite a few Dean basses as can be seen on my profile, I also have two Dean Guitars. One acoustic exotic paduk (?) and an electric semi-hollow Palomino natural gloss with P-90’s. I just dabble on guitar though

Looks to be a USA Dean Hillsboro. Very nice
Have you looked on the back of the headstock?
Dean builds a few USA models every year to drum up business for their custom shop in Tampa.
Have you ever been there since you're in Florida?
The Dean Hillsboro came out originally in 2010 and they have been making them in different versions since. They've been made in Korea, Indonesia and China, plus USA models that are usually made to order for a particular customer.
I own the one made by luthier Jon Hill for the NAMM 2009 show that was shown to get reactions.
Jon Hill stopped working for Dean in 2013 and started his own bootleg guitars and basses.

I can date your Vendetta if you provide the first few numbers of your S/N
The Hillsboro has offset dot markers which makes it unusual.

The new one is a Hillsboro. The Hillsboro is a body shape created by John Hill.
I have different ones. On has a MM pup, another Jazz pups, another is a P/J (rare) and the Jon Hill Prototype for NAMM 2009.

Interesting… the rep said that it wasn’t a Hillsboro. Looking at yours it could be. The controls are different. It could be that they’re experimenting with it. Mine has a volume control and a stacked tone/EQ, along with the pickup selector switch and the coil splitter. Dean is supposed to be providing me with the documentation so I’ll find out more. I’ll definitely let you know. I definitely like your Hillsboro collection!

Swamp Ash body. Maple Neck. Ebony Fretboard. Satin open pore finish. MM HH pups with active preamp.
Yours was probably going to be the next iteration.

Here's a 2005 catalog page. None of my earlier catalogs have the Vendetta model. I believe this basically replaced the Razor NT

After visiting the Armadillo factory in Tampa (Dean, Luna, DDrum), I have a better appreciation of the high level of quality they provide for their products. They not only have the custom shop, but they also inspect and test instruments made at their other locations to make sure they meet standards. They also make their own pickups and have a lot of cool stuff from their artists, from John Entwistle, or Pantera, to their bluegrass artists, etc. There’s also a demo room where you can play any of the Dean, Luna and DDrum stuff from the current line. It’s less than a 3-hour drive from my house.
