Post a pic of your VendettaHow can I get on the list? I have an early 2000s Dean Vendetta w/razor wire inlay fretboard and a 2021+ prototype bass (may be a one-off). Not on a bass note, I also have a number of Dean electric and acoustic guitars.

Oh, and welcome to Talk Bass. I see you just joined TB on Wednesday. Please peruse the pages of this club when you have time. All kinds of information. How can I get on the list? I have an early 2000s Dean Vendetta w/razor wire inlay fretboard and a 2021+ prototype bass (may be a one-off). Not on a bass note, I also have a number of Dean electric and acoustic guitars.
Although I have quite a few Dean basses as can be seen on my profile, I also have two Dean Guitars. One acoustic exotic paduk (?) and an electric semi-hollow Palomino natural gloss with P-90’s. I just dabble on guitar thoughHow can I get on the list? I have an early 2000s Dean Vendetta w/razor wire inlay fretboard and a 2021+ prototype bass (may be a one-off). My favorite Dean bass is a prototype that may be the only one in existence… it was supposed to be a 2021/22 top line but is not in the lineup. The pickups, neck material and some of the other characteristics seem to also be prototypes. I happened to be in my friend’s music store when the Dean rep came by…Although I have quite a few Dean basses as can be seen on my profile, I also have two Dean Guitars. Looks to be a USA Dean Hillsboro. Very niceMy favorite Dean bass is a prototype that may be the only one in existence… it was supposed to be a 2021/22 top line but is not in the lineup. Thanks, but the new one isn’t a Hillsboro. The pickups are active prototype Fishman with splittable coils, and the neck is actually smoked maple. It’s close in shape to the Hillsboro. It was developed around or after the Hillsboro.I can date your Vendetta if you provide the first few numbers of your S/N
The Hillsboro has offset dot markers which makes it unusual.
Both are real lookers![]()
The new one is a Hillsboro. The Hillsboro is a body shape created by John Hill. Thanks, but the new one isn’t a Hillsboro. I bought the Vendetta back in 2005/6. I lent it to a friend of mine for a gig so I’ll post the serial number when I get it back. It would be interesting to see when it was made. Thanks for checking for me. I really appreciate any information I can get.
Here's a 2005 catalog page. None of my earlier catalogs have the Vendetta model. I believe this basically replaced the Razor NTThanks, but the new one isn’t a Hillsboro. Yeah, I kinda like Dean basses. Check out my profile when you have a chance.Interesting… the rep said that it wasn’t a Hillsboro. Looking at yours it could be. The controls are different. It could be that they’re experimenting with it. Mine has a volume control and a stacked tone/EQ, along with the pickup selector switch and the coil splitter. Dean is supposed to be providing me with the documentation so I’ll find out more. I’ll definitely let you know. I definitely like your Hillsboro collection!

I've bought four sets of USA pups from them custom made. All for my Paramount and Juggernaut. After visiting the Armadillo factory in Tampa (Dean, Luna, DDrum), I have a better appreciation of the high level of quality they provide for their products. They not only have the custom shop, but they also inspect and test instruments made at their other locations to make sure they meet standards. They also make their own pickups and have a lot of cool stuff from their artists, from John Entwistle, or Pantera, to their bluegrass artists, etc. There’s also a demo room where you can play any of the Dean, Luna and DDrum stuff from the current line. It’s less than a 3-hour drive from my house.
