Dean Club!!!

Really nice 2007 Trans Red Quilt Maple Vendetta on Reverb. I am in no way connected with this sale.

The body on these is similar to an Edge 4, but the top is carved. Points on top of the headstock are not broken off.

Sadly, I sold my Semi hollow rhap- it went back to a previous owner to partially fund my new fretless JB.

if i get a chance at another one day I’ll jump. But for now, back to honourary member status.

I’ve recently seen 3 of the ‘cats’ eye f hole lined fretless version on the web.

I am chasing big fat lows these days - so im in love with the jazz at the moment.

but that rhapsody was awesome in many ways. So light - and very nice neck.

Bass is still technically a side gig for me so im trying not to build a collection. It is very hard.

Hey @B-Mac , do you know the retail price of the 1999 Euro/Czech Dean Jeff Berlin basses? Mine's a standard Alder body in Amber finish. I know the Palaedium's retailed for $799, which is about $1500 now adays.

thanks!
Update.
I found a price list from 2000

I was at Raleigh Sam Ash today and stumbled across this bass haha. Someone put a set of 35DC and a BQC preamp in it. I was looking for something to setup for BEAD and not feel guilty if I dinged it up at gigs or rehearsals with the metal project.
The inlays aren't my thing. The tone makes up for it. Perfect for metal and distorted grind tones. Set it up with a 135-65 tuned to A# standard. For $299 it'll serve its purpose.

Nice score! ;) Very underrated bass!

I just bought one from MGR that was all original with a case. I was looking at the one you had bought, in fact I posted a SAM ASH Reverb link here for that very bass as post #3242 above on this page (that you replied to).

They're actually a great well made bass. Don't let the low price fool you or the TB headstock snobs for that matter. For $299 that is great purchase. Similar to an Edge, except the top is carved. The top has a real quilt maple top on a basswood body. I like the inlays. You're lucky to have it modified as it is. They originally came with DMT pups and a Dean pre-amp. Made by the 'World' factory in Korea that has made many other basses for many other manufacturers. I really like the thin narrow flat neck too.

Enjoy it! Play the Snot out of it!!!

Here's a catalog page with some info. The 5 string version is pictured, but the specs are basically the same for the 4 string. Also an excerpt from a 2008 Price List

Hey B Mac,
You wouldn't happen to have the electronics schematic of the Brian Bromberg B2s in your vast collection of all things Dean???
Previous owner dumped some DiMarzio pups in my bass, and I need to clean up the birds nest he left in the cavity...

Remember, that is the extremely rare trans green B2... As far as I know, a one of a kind!

No, I do not. But I can do some digging. I can also take some pix of mine when I have some time. Is yours a five or four string? Mines a 4 string. Two pups and piezo on each saddle in the bridge.

How floppy is the 135 at A#?

I added a pickup cover and tug bar to my Dean Juggernaut. Love the vintage look. I think this one is going to get more playing time now.

IMG-9319.JPG IMG-9320.JPG IMG-9321.JPG

I have a matching bridge cover but haven't had the courage to drill into the uncovered part of the body. I'm also using a pick more often and like to palm mute at the bridge, so maybe that accessory stays in the case for now.

I was worried the bridge cover wouldn't fit over the high-mass bridge, since apparently that's the case for most Fenders, but I can confirm the unbranded All Parts cover fits just fine. I suspect this is because the bridge on the Juggernaut is a little farther north on the body, to accommodate the 22 fret neck.

Here's the Juggernaut with pickguard removed:
