I enjoyed those vids too.
I especially enjoyed that @McG played on this.

Yup it kicks a@@ or I wouldn't have bought it. And I can say that it is less flashy than my other basses as well ha ha haOf course I can't say enough about the great tone of the ZONE! I always laugh at its shock value, because one would easily be deceived into thinking that it was just for looks, but sonically, it's amazing.
Dean really did their homework on it... or the pup is just that good, or it's the painted fretboard...
All I know is that I own seven American made basses of distinction, and the Zone is on par with them all when it comes to tone. And between us, it's actually a little less flashy than my other basses... lol
No I don't have a Dean do have an Ibanez. But really like that Dean. Just don't do any acoustic playing but I would if the chance ever came up.I enjoyed those vids too.

No it's Indo. But has a Warwick bridge, Bartolini pups and pre, a brass nut, Neck through, mirrored inlays, Grover tuners, and is numbered. They only made 50 of them.USA build?
You had posted this previously and I always assumed that the '37 of 50' indicated it was a USA build. Learn something all the time here at TB! Dean has used Bart's on a few different basses (Jeff Berlin) but I don't think I've seen them use Soap Bar Bart's like yours. Are the inlays unique to this limited run as well?
I was able to check another source and the Rhapsody was not in the 2000 full line catalog.Of course. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I know it was around then, but can't narrow it down myself more than being pretty sure it was between 2000 and 2003.
I saw that catalog post earlier today when I was searching and it reminded me of a past disappointment. Back when I got the Rhapsody 8 I liked the ergonomics of it so much I really wanted a passive, fretted 4 string with F holes, but all I could find online or in stores was the fretless 4 version. I didn't know any of those others existed. Only the 8, 12 and fretless 4.
Okay, I see one exposed pole pickup in the MM style and 4 knobs. Can you tell us a bit more about this bargain 'find' that you found? I am currently eyeing a PJ style Hillsboro. Here's mine: Dean Eric Bass Signature Model; got it for $200 off Guitar Center's website, and for the money I spent on it, it's amazing. I love how this thing sounds. Sorry about the file attachment, I uploaded it the wrong way at first.
Sure. I don't know much about the P or PJ style Hillsboro basses; to my knowledge the quality on those instruments varies quite a bit, but I've never owned one. However, this one is a signature model for Eric Bass from Shinedown; his signature model is the reason the Hillsboro bass even exists, because Dean developed it in collaboration with him; unfortunately he no longer uses these and they no longer make his signature model. The body on mine is swamp ash, the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard with no inlays (just side markings), and a Dean humbucker and 3 band preamp. These were made in South Korea, and if the rest of them are anything like mine the quality is outstanding. The electronics work great, and it has a nice full sound to it. It's also a bit on the heavy side, but nothing unbearable. Guitar Center has a couple of these signature models for $300ish last I checked. I highly recommend this instrument.Okay, I see one exposed pole pickup in the MM style and 4 knobs. Can you tell us a bit more about this bargain 'find' that you found? Yes, they are. The preamp is actually pretty mild compared to my Ray34's preamp; I generally play it with all three controls either dimed or close to it.So are the controls V/T/M/B?
