Played it for a few minutes. MAN ! I love it ! I was kinda disappointed with the Bartolini model - it had a somewhat scooped sound overall; sounded good for certain things, but I just didn`t find it as versatile as I thought it would be. This one is the polar opposite - warm and extremely punchy, with great sustain. Like the Bart, it has outstanding fretwork and dead-level neck. Bought this to flip for a few bucks, but I`m having second thoughts. I`m thinking this thing would make a superb fretless, but then again I hate to ruin such great fretwork too. I`ve never owned anything nicer than an MIM, and I hate to say it, but these Deans have been the best basses I`ve owned I think. I haven`t even got into making any adjustments or setting it up yet.
