yep. within a few hours of practice, they're dull again.

This surprises me. I've found the Blue Steels to really keep their brightness for me. One of the reasons I've liked them so much.

Yes, they are most derinetly more bright than the Sr's but if you do a lot of chord work up high at times they may not be as responsive or blend as well.

Same here, but this thread has me at least thinking of giving the Will Lee set a shot.

I want to give the Lees a shot, but am unsure of what bass to put them on. If I had a good description of their sound, it would probably help.

blue steels remain my favs after years of trying other strings. I bought a new SR5 last year and everyone kept telling my the slinkys that come with the Stingrays are the best strings for this bass.

I finally replaced them with some med guage blue steels (50-128), and holy clams! the bass came alive. It's so much more growly and responsive. I guess I just love stainless over nickel no matter how bright the bass is!

I've only used the SR2000's on my F Bass BN5. I went that direction because the F Bass comes tapered. I've used the Blue Steels on my Kubicki for a lot of years now and they've worked great. It's hard to do a comparison since I've only used one on each bass and also used different gauges on both as well.
