Those are the BOMB! I have been looking for a 5 string set for my FMT V. I have a few sets of blue steels on standby given to me by a friend with a Dean Markey indorsement. I did really like the nickel bluesteels at on time but know they aren't even in my top ten of strings to use.
I had a set on a Roscoe Beck (RB5). They are nickel and not really bright but very clear and well balanced! I don't really care for bright strings since I play with GK and Aguilar equipment. Those strings really showed the character of that bass in gobs.
The Will Lee SR2000 strings are stainless steel, not nickel. They are some of the brightest strings out there IMO.

I have Blue Steels on everything, guages may vary slightly depending on the particular bass.
I have not tried the other Markley strings, but might just give it a shot based on some of what I've read here. I think the Will Lee's might make some sense for me.

+1 they seem to die quick horrible death.
yep. within a few hours of practice, they're dull again.
I have the Will Lee SR2000's...they are pretty freakin good. They have good range and they are extremely durable.

I've used Blue Steels light gauge on my Kubicki ever since they came out. I recently put SR2000's on my F Bass using gauges that are recommend by F Bass. They are individual not a set.

it's not so much their life, although that was a huge factor, it's that I didn't like their feel, either.

I have used the SR2000 That have that Markley rough feel to them. I liked that about them, they were very bright kinda hard to tame. Overall they were good but I prefer more of round tone not so bright.
I have used Sr2000's for as long as i have been playing bass. However, I have tried the Blue Steels numerous times and was satisfied on most 4 string basses I tried them on. On 5s though i would definetly prefer the tapered Srs because the non-tapered Steels tend to "warble" high up on the B.
