deeper bass sound

i have a newer fender american p bass i love the guitar, but i want a creamy throaty deeper bottom end sound. iam using an swr 750 workingpro and a aguilar 210cab and a fane 15. iam thinking going to an 18, but would changing pickups help me and if so what would you suggest. thanks:hyper:

you need some tubes in your gear that you get you deeper and deeper, try a all tube and a good hybrid( 1 tube one alone does not really count :hiding: ) , like ampeg or mesa, see if is that what you are looking for;)

He's got tubes in his setup (yes, 1 tube really counts)...what he REALLY needs is to get rid of the SWR and find an Aguilar AG500 or AG500SC, maybe a DB750 if he can afford it. Ampeg and Mesa will do as well. But I vote for the Aguilar.

The cheapest thing to do would be to put some flatwounds on it. Also if you play with a pick try some of the felt picks. If you really want good reproduction on the old style sound; Seymour Duncan Antiquities are really good and Lollar pickups are too. I don't think you need an 18 to get lows, a 15 and 2 10's should be fine.

Yeah, I agree that a different head would probably be best, although flats would definitely help too.

Aguilar makes some amazing heads, but if you're going for that price range anyway, you might as well try Ampeg. Maybe some people will disagree, but Ampeg heads always seem to get a really deep low end...too deep for what I normally go for, so I steer clear, but it may be just what you're looking for.

One way or another, a tube head (all or hybrid) will make a big difference.

Any bass with an EB style pickup will give you incredibly deep bass especially with flat wound strings.

Get a bass with the pickup located right up under the neck... like these... you'll be in heaven...

No amp/cab combo can make a Fender sound like one of these...

Want it cheap? Get an Eastwood Hi-Flyer about $360 - for an amazing sound.
