Demeter VTBP M 800D @ NAMM

That is +/- 6dB from the "all controls at noon" setting. The tone controls are, indeed, passive.

I was up in the air between a Minnie VTBP-M-800D Amp and a De-Monique. Tonight I voted with my wallet and put a deposit on the Demeter. What swayed me on the Demeter was:
1. I prefer the Demeter's form factor
2. I think the Demeter will have a more flexible EQ
3. The Demeter was cheaper.
What I learned after speaking to James for half an hour:
1. For the last week, the price on the website was wrong. He's not sure how it happened but the original price is the price it is now.
2. It'll take 30 - 45 days to be made and shipped to me. You can reserve one with a deposit.
3. He will make it without his name on the front vent panel. Or, you can swap it with the back panel as the are the same.
4. He hasn't sold out of the first run that'll be numbered and signed.
5. He's a real gentleman and a pleasure to talk to.

I know that relatively few of these are in players' hands. And even fewer yet that also have the Monique. But I'd still love to see some sound/tone/feel comparisons between the two.

Sensible line of thinking, LeonD. Given the price range and as much as I love the Glocks, I think I'd go Demeter as well. Their's are the only tube pres I've ever played that has the attack of a solid state. In terms of getting a grill without the logo... yeah, I'd be that guy I guess.
Are there one or two Speakon connections for cabs? Not clear on the website. Seems like just one.
I would not need the Jensen DI, I have a Radial JDI with a Jensen I use all the time for FOH application.

Trim Pot/control. My previous 201s was accessed by removing the cover, going inside the unit to adjust. I assume that would be the deal on this amp too. I think James just centers it. I remember bumping mine up some and then left it there. I also rolled a few tubes. Great pre amp.

annyone able to give some "flavor" descriptions of this or other Demeter amps (clips would be nice) all the clips i've found of Demeter bass amps are terrible. i'm considering unloading my Monique/PA setup and rolling into one of these with a Hator (1855 or 1203x2).

thanks. you could be directing the next $3k out of my bank account
i mosly play in a rock/metal/industrial realm. my Mesa Buster does "rock" sounds, and i've got a Pork Loin and B7K so i can get pretty rocky sounds out of Monique.
my biggest concern is that i have a P and a J and the P signal is much hotter than the J (it will overdrive my pedals much easier), so the lack of an easily adjusted input gain is a little weird.
i'd also be curious how the pre handles hot signals and overdrives. the pre overdrive on something like the Prodigy is awful to my ears. Monique and Buster don't clip in the same fashion, though my B7K has clipped harshly when i've run it as a mostly clean signal with an aggressive attack.
