What's with everyone always ignoring the Eventide Timefactor? Eventide are one of the most respected effects companies in studios all over the world.
Yes it's a little pricey at first glance (not when compared to some delays mentioned earlier) but it's loaded with Excellent delays (10 types) modulation, tremolo, reverb, looping and much more, with the added bonus of regular software updates often adding great new features, plus 40 presets! (originally 20) It's either simple or a tweakers delight depending how you want to use it.
