Digitech bp355 patch ideas

I don't have any patch ideas to share, but I do want to say thanks for keeping this thread going. I picked up a bp355 a couple weeks ago and going through and tweaking each category to match your posts has really helped me understand how to work with the patches. I will try to post up some of my own if I come up with anything interesting.

Thanks, rockyonekc...glad my patch ideas helped you out. I did do my best coming up with nifty patch ideas for the digitech bp355.

AS above, I don't have any patches to share, but am grateful for the patches already posted. At The moment, i am using 4 of Crystalman's patches, and tweaking Them to suit my needs. I will post the results as soon as they are ready...

Hey Crystalman85. Thanks for putting so much time into this. I have to admit, your thread is the reason I stopped lurking and made an account to post. =)

That being said, have you run across any bp355 patches or settings that work well for the Nine Inch Nails style of bass? Particularly, I'd love to find something that replicates the sounds used on the With Teeth album as well as The Downward Spiral and maybe even The Fragile.

That's not asking much, right? =) I've gotten close to the type of fuzz I want to sound like the style of With Teeth, but I'm not quite there. I also can't seem to find the right tone to match a lot of his stuff on The Downward Spiral, but I'd love to test some out if you or anyone else has some suggestions.

Thanks in advance and thanks again for all the patches you've already posted.

It is not possible to upload bp355-settings directly to TB ...

Let's try a dropbox link:

Some of these are based on Crystalmans excellent patches, adjusted to my needs and amp, a TC Electronic BG500/210.

VOX is a Beatles-like sound from the early years
VOX is basically the same, but with an Octaver added. I use it for the intro to "Keep On Running" ( I love the bass on that tune..)
U-BASS is for my (you guessed it) U-bass
UKULELE is for playing my uke :-)
Tube Bas gives me a rather soft sound, good for playing some Shadows-tunes ...

Enjoy!

Wow.

Thanks for posting all of these. I haven't logged into TB since 2012, but after a Google search and finding this thread, I just HAD to sign in to say thanks. I'm finally leaving the combo amp world, got a separate amp this week & getting a Peavey 2x12 CHEAP. Love my amp but wanted a little more versatility in terms of sound. I'd debated the Digitech, and I'm sold.

Thanks again. Bookmarked.

I no longer own a digitech bp355, but I would say that the fragile does sound like a fuzz. what ever fuzz you use that close the nin sound, try messing around with the eq(give the warm eq a try) and try using the swr basic black 1x15 cab model and see if that helps you out.

Anytime, dude. glad this thread helped you out.

Don't know what to call this one, just named it Custom:

Fretless/Wah: None
Compressor: None
Distortion: Octavia---45---55
Amplifier (Both): RockSVT---Ampeg 8x10---99---40
EQ: Midboost---2---2000---6---3---0
Chorus: None
FX: (optional) Whammy---Post---OctUp---99---4
Reverb: None
Delay: None
Expression: volume

Works best with another amp that has a clean signal to boost the sound.

I am looking for help creating a patch for upright bass. I tried an earlier one on this thread for fretless. It wasn't bad but if anyone has a more upright patch I'd appreciate it. The band is doing "All About that Bass" I need a similar sound thanks everyone. I hope Crystalman is still around to lend a hand.

I wonder if Crystalman even has this pedal still. I've had it for almost two years now and I'm considering going towards something "easier". I dunno, I'm just not feeling it anymore. I'm not sure if I'm just lazy or the tones just sound too digital. Maybe it's just too much pedal for my simple tastes.

Actually I no longer own this pedal, but I would say it does take some time to get to know the digitech bp350 and some time to tweak some sounds.

I'm not quite sure how to nail an upright bass sound, but you can get a nice fretless sound by using the fretless effect with the fender bassman model and some compression.

Crystalman:

Great stuff! Thanks for posting.

If you're taking requests, I have one: what would you recommend to get a Death From Above 1979/Royal Blood type of tone? I've fooled with some settings, but I'm not thrilled with the results.

Thanks!

Anytime dude. I no longer own a digitech bp350. Try using the ampeg svt model with the digitech grunge distortion model at a low gain setting. I'm not quite sure if that'll work, but give it a shot and see if it works out for you.
