I dub it The Silver Slayer. There was some discussion on the new bridge, but I haven't heard a conclusion - do the strings anchor on the bridge or go through-body?

If you closely at the second picture you can see the ball ends through the bridge. I’d say just through the back of the bridge.

That would the ideal outcome. Just wondering if anyone here had ever been through something like that?

34-35.5" ... fretboard is squared at both ends ... same headstock as normal Warwicks...doesn't look like they changed the body shape either. It's a Rockbass too - so an import model.

I just can't get excited about multiscales with that small a fan and design like that. Why bother?

I suppose if they can beat the Combustion price point that could be interesting, but my gut says they'll be too close to it to be competitive with a bass that looks and plays a lot better.

Looks are subjective - I love my Super Jazz more than anything, but I think Combustions look pretty ugly. I'd much rather play a Nirvana Black Corvette if we're just going by looks (I'd prefer a Streamer however ). Definitely agree with you that I'd prefer a more dramatic fan, but also maybe this is a nice gateway for those just getting into the multi-scale game? Rockbass prices for a 5-string Corvette $$ tend be in the $500-1200 range I think depending on what you're looking at, so the basses aren't really comparable price-wise.

I agree. At that scale length, I'm not sure the impact that will really have. I went tried several fanned fret basses before the Dingwall, and I never got the clarity/evenness across the strings that I get with my Dingwall. I love Warwicks, and have a Corvette Jazzman that's awesome, but their multiscale configuration just seems not quite worth it.

Can you give us the scoop on the new bridge, is it string through or is the familiar retainer type system?

I agree. I just happened to notice they’ve joined the FF game.
The bass on display looks very ....meh.

I’m sure it will translate to a custom model at some point in the near future but like you mentioned. Currently the details on that Rockbass or whichever are very blah.

I'm feeling totally satisfied with my 2 aquamarine sparkle D-Bird Standards right now. The ergonomics of those basses work for me perfectly, and I love the middle pickup sound.

Before going double bird I was a 2 bass kinda guy, but when I went to owning two of the exact same basses (for different tunings) I decided to bump to 3 and pick up a standard P bass with flats so I had some variety in my life. It's been about ... a month ... and while the Squire Classic Vibe is great, I'm already GASing pretty hard looking at Dingwall Super Ps.

A P5 with alder, maple neck, wenge board, sunburst, tort, TI flats - now that'd be awesome!

Is the new “closed” bridge design going to be standard issue on all Canadian Dingwalls? I definitely prefer the slotted “quick change” version. Not aesthetically but from a practicality standpoint...

Of all the new NAMM previews the combustion’s still have the hipshot(?) solo bridge pieces vs the Droc bridge.

Not 100% but that seems to be its first showing. Perhaps it will be offered on the web store to retrofit to combustion’s.

I definitely prefer it over the solo pieces cosmetically speaking and due to the sharp edges

The Super series retains the 19mm for both four and fives.

I like the existing hardware well enough, so it'd be a tough sell for me. If the mounting holes matched up, the strings still dropped in, the hardware coloring matched, and I could get a sustain improvement - I could be swayed.

Let's be real here, I'm pretty shocked it took Warwick this long to get into the FF game. I'm guessing that quite a few of the prog/metal guys that were playing Warwicks are moving to Dingwall/other FF basses. This response makes sense. Offer a lightly fanned bass at a cheap price to see if you can entice some guys to come back or get some new players.

A 1.5" fan seems like a waste of math and engineering, but we play basses with 2x that, so anything less will seem pointless to us, lol! Dingwalls look scary to some people, so I get the super soft fan.

I think the Warwick Corvette is one of the ugliest basses ever, but there's a bunch of 'em out there, and this is another member for Team Fanned Frets.

Already swapped the bridge pieces out on my Combustion for black Hipshot US ones, I would be somewhat tempted to go for the new bridge if it covered the ground wire hole fully.
