Yeah, not really doing anything with it these days... I have a C4 and a FI on my board and the little yellow guy doesn't play nice for sensitivity, so it kind of is sitting in the island of misfit toys. I did in a moment of weakness do a pre-order for the new Iron Ether Dubterranea, so I'll have that for a synth pedal to play around with too.

My old Levy's served me well on the train, bus and metro (subway) back and forth to school for three years and even on my bicycle to jams.

I am particular about what I want and need from a gig bag and that model served as a great base. my current #1 is an Access Stage 3 bag. While it is not perfect, it's the best one for me out of the ones that I know of.

I think most of them get made in China, even from the North American brands except for maybe Levy's who I believe have a factory in Winnipeg.

I had a Sheldon-made AB-II that I sold years ago, and wanted to get back into Dingwalls, too.

Walked in expecting to buy a high end one from Chad at The Bass Shop here in Seattle... and surprised the heck out of myself when I walked out with a crazy-looking aqua metal flake D-Roc!!

These things absolutely deserve the name Dingwall. In every regard.

And they retain their resale value, so you’ve got nothing to lose by getting one and trying it out. Mine is even passive!! No DarkGlass, or anything! But it just sounds so very very good!

The other thing to remember about the MIC Dingwalls is that all of the materials are still North American. Dingwall sends the materials to China for assembly, and then gets the instrument back and does the setup themselves at their shop.

They are absolutely “real Dingwalls”, as far as I am concerned.

I think so too.
I would love to see that change and I try to promote financial growth to any other country but China(preferably North America)
by letting our favourite brands know that as customers we are aware and have preferences as to where our dollars go it could make an impact On their decisions as well.

Change then happens.

The C4 is very cool but i always liked what the Bananana did. It even made it onto a record I did, although this track was done on a Super Squier J bass.

While again, I'm not really shopping for any cases right now, they have a hybrid case that might interest people, It looks like a gig-bag with the shoulder straps, and nylon exterior but is ABS underneath. They list it in both regular and 'dual' version. Might be the thing to keep mobility and peace of mind.

My problem with it, and maybe it's just mine, the 'sensitivity' control does nothing. And without effective input sensitivity, I can't use it live. Just sliding a hand up the strings when you're muting triggers it. Also, in a live setting you're not going to be able to 'dial' in anything with the super tiny and tweaky control knobs.

Bags are fine by me for local use. If I'm driving to a show that's not a problem (public transit here isn't really effective for me for anything). Last I flew I used my Steinberger in a bag and it was great...I shouldered it onto a plane, put it in the overhead, and I could keep it with me on every shuttle to-and-from the hotel, venue/festival/airport rather than putting it in luggage. But for most of our playing it's an extended sprinter van with a tight pack for the full band's gear (90% roadcases) and there's not place for the 'make sure my bass floats on top of the pack'. If we're not doing that, it's extended sprinter plus trailer which isn't friendly to gig-bag life.

That said, I think everyone is resourceful enough to find a hard case if they need rather than Sheldon supplying one.

I think that is what Gallien-Krueger ended up doing a few years back (moving all production back to the USA).

Generally ignoring them while I work on my own. Of course I do everything at the last minute. That is just a ridiculous drum track. I'd like to see someone actually try to play that, not just program it.

Supply chain issues with getting the wenge they use for necks, I was given the option to swap to a maple neck to keep it on schedule or leave it as is but potentially be delayed for an undetermined period.
I left it with the wenge/wenge, I've waited this long. A bit longer won't kill me haha

How far into the wait are you? My order is right around 23 months from the date it was put in by the dealer but I've not heard anything from them about delays due to wood options as yet.
