Worked at a record store from about 1991 until 2001. :) I have relatively few from what it could be. I honestly am nearly all digital now. Apple Music, Spotify, Internet Archive, and a 500TB drive that sits networked on our WIFI. Someday the music room will be a more comfortable place to inhabit, then vinyl will be a more interesting prospect.

Looks like these are made by a Chinese company called Music Area - the badge with the Chinese characters on the inside of the bag is their logo. Apparently they make OEM bags for a number of other brands as well.

I got a couple of their “Music Area” branded bags off Amazon back when they were less expensive. They’re great cases, almost comparable to the Reunion Blues Continental I keep my NG in.

These Dingwall bags look significantly nicer than the ones I got though. I’d definitely be interested but I suspect they’re expensive.

That’s the brand. It was definitely cheaper than the Vertigo by over $100 CDN. And considering it comes with the “tick”, (which is extra with the Mono) made it a pretty decent option. The only drag is the shipping is not cheap due to the size.

Several builders are getting their cases from Music Area these days.
Just like Reunion, ProTec, Gator, and other competing brands, they have several different grades of cases at various price points with varying degrees of protection and additional features.
The ones that come with the Dingwall customs are definitely super nice.
But the ones that come with the imports are more than adequate too, definitely not an el cheapo model.

We've revisited this several times over the years. To be honest, HS cases offer no better protection (most are made out of chipboard) than gigbags but they're a heck of a lot heavier, can't be shoulder strapped and are easily knocked over. I've done a lot of travel with basses in tow - airports, subways, busses, taxis, walking through crowded streets etc. I've done one trip with HS cases and will never do it again. Two gigbags in an SKB golf case works great as does the Enki case. Once you've tried those two options, you'll never go back.

We used to offer a service where we would have a custom road case made. Two customers took us up on that in 25 years. One regretted it afterward due to the weight and size.

I just visited their website. Too bad they don't have any retailers in the US, though it looks like maybe they ship.

While again, I'm not really shopping for any cases right now, they have a hybrid case that might interest people, It looks like a gig-bag with the shoulder straps, and nylon exterior but is ABS underneath. They list it in both regular and 'dual' version. Might be the thing to keep mobility and peace of mind.

It's been solid...but I didn't even love using my Contego in a van/trailer setting.

I’ve tried every option since 2010 I think from the one @BurningSkies posted above to the most recent.

I did like that bag a lot. It did the job very well and for a long time. I especially liked the little hook that came with it to tuck it up in a closet or something.

the new bags are well built, protect very well and are beautiful. I really like them..... but I gotta say it.....

I am really over sending money to China..... I am doing my best to avoid any purchases that say made in China.

no politics, just economics. Trying to keep dollars in North America.

It's not as simple as that, though, especially in the modern world.
