Now you're golden. :) Gold is my favorite finish on the Droc.

The new 'golds' coming out of the shop are fantastic, especially when lit. This showed up in my IG feed yesterday and I had to grab a copy because it's such a stunning bass/color:

This is pretty close to the SJ 12 fret headless thing with a white pearloid pickguard I dreamt about a week ago. Larger metal flakes in my dream though more like the current flake in the aquamarine on the d rocs.
I’d never spec this but it sure is amazing looking and probably more so in person

The Glockenklang uses smaller shafts (0.250in) and the DGTC is not only larger (0.375in) but also include shields around the posts. I didn't try very hard but I wasn't able to get the Glockenklang knobs to work on the DGTC controls but it was fine the other way around. I seem to recall needing to know the shaft diameters when ordering a set of knobs for my NG-2.

I also included photos of the control cavities. You shouldn't have an issue with either pre-amp fitting in the space and the battery compartment is already large enough for 2 9V batteries on the Glockenklang. It has some extra foam to take the space of the missing battery since it is only a 9V pre-amp instead of 18V like the DGTC.

Although after some more time spent with the basses I think I'll probably end up doing it the johnsonabq way : just get another bass for that :)

Very Nice Nate! I dig the grain on that! Swamp Ash/Indigo burst? What year is that one? Mine (without the route) is a 2018. My 4 string is a 2012 and it still has the route, along with the large square cut that where they put the 2) 9 volts on the initial SuperJs. I thought that was kinda odd since it also has the round magnetic cover on the back for the batteries.

I think it’s a 2014. I’m not sure my memory bank is serving well right now but something about it being the first of this gen.

Woke up contemplating the mysteries of the cosmos and found myself thinking of Swamp Ash...

Thought I would share a photo of the back-side of the Nebula Z. It is impossible to describe without seeing it in person in the sunlight. The purple almost looks like it is color changing and goes from very dark to translucent in the light.

The main reason for the post however is that you can clearly see the dual density sections in the grain. The spacing between the ring lines is much larger on the treble side and it progressively decreases as you move to the bass side. I'm sure others have noticed but I really thought that was cool. Happy Friday, everyone!

Yeah, I think I've even seen an interview with Sheldon where he said that ash is pretty variable so there's no telling. One of the mysteries of the universe! I think I remember hearing that they match by weight and aesthetics.

BTW, that Rastaburst was part of the inspiration for my Zs. I've always thought it was pretty amazing.
