^To me, that's totally comfy. Right in the same range as my others.

I've been shaving since 1992. Wouldn't think of going back, even if I could.

I think of it as 70's muscle car green. To me the charm of a P-Bass is that it isn't some 'super car' sliding through the air, it's brute force power. It rumbles and roars.

Glad it's finally in your hands. Maybe the bridge pickup is just in the FDV cover? I'm sure someone from the shop will sort that out for you in no time.

I'm 'working' until 6pm...after that I'll head down to the music room and spend some quality time! And seriously, no worries on the pickup. Stuff like that happens one way or another. Not complaining or stressing about it. It may be fate or an act of God...We're dealing with some mystic 5h1t that came of a dream, after all. ;)

Can I point out that the new Dingwall gigbag, gig-pouch and tool kits are really nice and a big step up? They are!

For what it's worth, my gravitation towards the long scale Dingwalls (and decision to put my SJ up for sale) is a result of my bands' annoying quest to play in as low a tuning as possible (A# and G# on recent albums, now the guitarist is writing in F).

While the SJ is probably my nicest bass and easiest to play, it doesn't match the clarity in low tunings that I can get from my AB, AB2 and Z.

I've been playing the long scale ones happily for a really long time. This is actually the first short-scale Dingwall I've ever experienced. I don't specifically 'need' the length (I'm not drop tuning, etc.) but I've always appreciated what it does. This is a different thing and I did play traditional basses from about 1984 until 2005, so it really is a 'coming home' feel in what the tone is like and overall feel to my fingers.

I've seen pictures of them in used ads and really like that tool kit. I didn't realize it had the pouch, too. I have an older, flatter gig-bag as well as the previous generation boxy ones and the new ones seem like a couple of steps up. You think you are getting the best but they just keep making it better.

Congrats on the SJ. I'm in between jobs but will hopefully be putting in an order for my hot rods once I get all of that sorted out. I'm thinking about going a different direction on color but that green was definitely on the list. I'm glad you made it happen!

It was literally haunting my dreams. The bass picked me, not the other way around. Also, I had really been considering if I ever had another made, to do a super bright sparkle finish, but again, this was the one that kept tapping my shoulder in the subconscious.

...all the original MG, MGB, AH cars in racing green aren't metallic though...
