Poor guy in either India or Pakistan taking my call on their second phony 'delivery attempt' got to hear my no-BS voice. Went to the FedEx Depot today (hour and a half round trip). While i had up-to-date tracking saying my package was there, they pulled up it in their system and said it was 'on truck for delivery,' and I would see it at my house today. I made her confirm my shipping address.

...rolled back into my driveway and got an update saying:
Customer not Available or Business Closed
Recommended action:
Door tag will provide the time and address of the FedEx location where you may pick up your shipment, and also indicate if another delivery attempt will be made.

Which is ridiculous because I have someone home who's all of 8 steps away from our door...and there's no door tag.

I called and every new drop off on their automated system I hit zero...until I got to a place where the hidden option got me to a person. I pointed out there was no tag, no attempt, had people here at home and that there was a fake attempt yesterday too. I made him confirm the delivery address (which also shows up in the emails I get). He said he'd have it slated for re-delivery today, and I told him I expect him to verify the delivery address since it doesn't help if it's going to the wrong place. He volunteered to have the local FedEx representative call me and I told him that I expect to actually get that call and would be calling back again later if it didn't come in a timely fashion.

Good grief. This is past ridiculous.

Yowzers. Was there an option to pick it up at their facility? (apologies if that was covered already!)

There was (you have to wait for one delivery attempt), and I did make that request to hold yesterday at 9am. As of right now that still lists as "request received check back later for status". ;)

I did get a call back from the local person who I 'visited with' earlier. It was super excusey and full of rando made up stuff. She blamed the Memphis Tennessee hub, she blamed someone for putting the wrong sticker on it, she blamed the customs people, she blamed the sender, etc. She even told me that I was looking at the tracking for "the wrong scan" and that I should be looking at the tracking for the other scan on the box. To which I pointed out I've only got one tracking number, and if there's a second scan and tracking...it's on the box which I don't have.

All that aside, they've promised to have it for pickup for me within the next hour. Which while not exactly home delivery...at this point I'll take whatever bone they wish to throw to get this box. So, I'll plan on taking a 'long lunch' and make the second trip into town to grab it later this afternoon. *Sigh*

:beaver:

Well...if they won't even try to deliver it to my home address (the one that's also listed/registered with FedEx with my login & personal info) and the one that's listed on the Customs paperwork and is the shipping address listed by the sender, and they won't let me pick it up...That means what exactly? They just keep it?
My apologies. I was referring to the general discussion of "hold for pickup". Not your current predicament which sounds like Cluster Flubber (making up words to express myself since I can't just say what's on my mind, smh).

Covid has really screwed up the workings of many a business, if not already shut down. One time I dropped off a couple of boxes for my sister in law in Florida with FedEx and they swapped the "from" and the "to" and they delivered the packages back to me two days later. smh I refused delivery, called HQ and they actually tried very hard to correct the mistake (in a lame sort of way).

The eagle has landed.

Very Sweet! In time this'll all hardly be a blip on the radar.
