I like that green. Did read that these have a P-tone in the bridge position?

Thanks! Won't be able to plug it in until later, but so far in just holding it for a few minutes, I'm really impressed. I love this finish, which comes off more like that first picture than the one in the sun (just wanted to get a few in the light. :) This is my first of the 'short scale' Dingwalls so I'll be interested to feel and hear the differences. Obviously fit/finish and build are exemplary, it feels lively, which is what I like... I didn't see a preview picture or anything so me opening the case was literally the first peep at it.

sorry to read about all of your hassles. However that thing looks awesome (!!), and I’m guessing will be well worth the headaches. Congrats on your super NDD! You spec’d an ebony board IIRC? I would love to hear how that compares to the maple (my current fav on the Super P). Enjoy that thing man!

The FDV that's there is the only surprise to me. ;)

I did spec and confirm a P-Tone. I'm going to try it out and see if I like it as is, I guess. We'll see. I actually have a P-Tone on hand, but it's a standard long-scale size not a Super Series size which is bigger.

Yep. Ebony board. The original intent was that 60's or early 70's dark dot-inlay fretboard. Rosewood wasn't an option but fairly even grained ebony certainly does the trick:

I'm very interested to hear your take on the DW "short scale" vs the rest of your herd. I've only ever owned or played the 37" scale DW, but have lusted for a Super P ever since they were announced. I still have my old 66 Fender P that served me well for so many years, but it never gets stage time.

Plus, the only time these come up used they are being sold "because I found out I'm a long scale DW player" or some variant of that. Very eager to see how your Super P stacks up!

my first speculation is that it’ll feel “snug” as in without oooking down you’ll think your on the 5 but actually on the 3. Moving up and down the neck will feel great otherwise and they have an awesome neck profile But moving up and down accross the strings will be more impactful/noticeable due to the spacing on quick runs.

I would guess you’ll find the B more thumpy. More immediate oooomf behind it. Still clean and articulate but... less.

I find the B oomf to be a nice contrast to the long scales for different genres/songs in a more traditional way. More about that retro feel vs the “sound”. A bit more girth to the notes up high too IMO.

Stunning! I have that SAME happy/p!ssed/unamused look! ahaha So is that British Racing Green? (i know Sheldon has a car fetish as well - wondering if thats the iconic colour) Looks amazing! Congrats!! :)

Ouch. :banghead: Further disappointment. Man, that sucks! Let me know if you think of selling the P-tone though.

I have been very tempted to get another Super P. This time with the P/J config. Yours would be perfect. Or maybe in candy apple red. :thumbsup: I hope it gives you all you expected.

Thanks! It's beautiful. I have a lot of gratitude that I have a handful of really beautiful Dingwalls. This one fills a specific 'thing' and also fills a hole for me since I sold my old beloved 1973 Precision.

I think of it as 70's muscle car green. To me the charm of a P-Bass is that it isn't some 'super car' sliding through the air, it's brute force power. It rumbles and roars.

Not really a disappointment. Due to the nature of how and why I ordered this bass, I have a bit of a zen-like attitude about it. It just is...
