I wonder if Spector (Who now has a fanned fret bass) will get La Bella (I believe they make Spector's strings) to build fanned fret strings for them. Be nice to have more variety.

Wow! I’m, gladly, shocked that they committed to 34-37” scale. I am so often disappointed that companies go for a shorter scale on the long end.

I am not sure how I feel about that. Is it a tip of the hat to the brand that paved the way over the last couple of decades or is it a bit of a rip-off and trying to take some of the market? 34" - 37" is a pretty specific scale length. There's a few that have done it now. At least the Ibanez scale lengths are a little different, so there's that.

My concern with the Spector multiscales is that it doesn’t look like they’ve done anything to help the ergonomics. They’ve stuck a longer neck on a small body. I bet it’s going to be pretty uncomfortable to reach for a low C on these, and they’re probably going to neck dive. I’d like to be pleasantly surprised that this isn’t the case, because they’re good looking basses at a decent price point.

I tried a 5-string Euro last year and knew by where the upper horn lines up, that it wouldn't balance well on a strap and I was right. The neck as it is, is already a fair stretch. The ergonomics are not for me. They look and sound great though.

I tried a 5-string Euro last year and knew by where the upper horn lines up, that it wouldn't balance well on a strap and I was right. The neck as it is, is already a fair stretch. The ergonomics are not for me. They look and sound great though.

I don’t find this beauty any more awkward then then my long scales.

I didn’t think I’d be into it when I tried it but it’s just a different flavour of awesome.

Because a bolt on neck can be replaced easily should something go wrong.

also, if you end up with neck issues it’s easier to make a new neck then a new bass.

FET mode on the Hyper Luminal is awesome imo. I really really like the all buttons in mode for metal/hard rock. Cool comparison as well.

I have my HL and M87 in my chain to choose between. I tried them together with the 87 into the HL and Holy COW. there's some NASTY tones hiding in there. If you have other compressors give stacking them a try

I agree. I half-way remember reading back in the mid-90’s something about being in the “Fender ballpark”and “snap” in reference to using a bolt-on neck....could be wrong though.

I put resolites on my euro5 and it fixed the balance.

indeed. I was playing the SJ earlier and where I thought I’d be on 12 without a look down and I was just on 9. Definitely more compact
