Hey fellow DingWalldo's, just dropping in to say that I am still looking for "my" Afterburner II 5-string that I sold thru BassNorthwest when I fell on hard times. Serial number 3542. Just looking to connect with the current owner and see if they will sell it to me... I had this bass made specially for me by Sheldon, and I miss her very very much. Keep me in mind...
I have them on all three of my Supers presently. In a nutshell, they're less zingy out of the pack than the Dingwalls. There are still plenty of highs, but they seem beefier and more bassy than the Dingwalls. These are my impressions after playing my SJ/P-4 and SP-4 live. I went with the standard .105 - .045 gauge. Nice strings.
12 off from mine. I can attest they are nice ones and a good vintage!
I think we chatted about that, possibly on the Dingwall players FB page? I've found two others within a couple of serial numbers of mine, but no hits on mine yet... but I'll keep looking as long as it takes!

My dealer told me a couple of weeks ago that the shop informed him my Z3-6 order will be ready to ship soon, so I can set one up in front of me, whilst playing the other soon ha! Stare and play, switch and repeat weeeeeeeee!

Wow, I owned an early ABII in early 2010 I think. The same ‘plain’ bubinga top with mahogany body and bubinga neck. I just went to check my old pics, and although I didn’t have a pic of the serial number, I believe it was your old bass! I’ll attach a few pics here, it’s hard to determine due to the plain top but they seem to have the same darker strips running up alongside the bridge, and same dark figure ‘smudge’ under the logo on the headstock.
The bad news is I don’t have any record of who I sold it to sometime midway 2010
also in Australia double If it’s the same bass, you’re right in wanting it back so badly, it’s one of only 2 basses I’ve sold that I really regret letting go...

Interesting. I'd never considered putting a refrigerator in the dining room before.
I absolutely love the wild finishes still! The natural flamed maple contrast layer on this bass makes it ‘classy’ for me. When you pick it up and look down, it’s chatoyance makes it shimmer like a jewel beneath all the blue and green stain.
Hey, technically the rigs are in the lounge room. The blurred out FBass fretless is in the dining room and is always formal.
It’s just practical. I mean, is there even ever a bad place for a fridge?
