Yes, I think I'll stick with roasted maple neck/mahogany body, all wenge neck/roasted swamp ash for now, especially since the later is already assembled courtesy of our friend theEmptyCell:

Great format! Great video!

I think my biggest surprise was the groundwounds on slap.

The daggers I think really showcased there usage on the slap and Jazz sections.

Enjoy the bass! I’m glad I moved it on when I did. Got my Sklar just before selling the Warmoth build, and this week my custom Bass VI is out for delivery.

Thanks for the review, it’s really superbly played and produced. I already play the regular nickels, and this confirms my choice for its overall tone amd versatility, but BDs might be worth a try for its different vibe. How do they feel under the fingers? Any burning from slides?

The Daggers felt pretty good under my fingers! No burning that I noticed. Took a second for my right hand to get used to them but once I played them for a couple of minutes I barely noticed a difference. I had never tried coated strings before this so I can't give a comparison to others. Tension-wise they felt a touch lighter than the nickels and flats if I recall. I recorded the flats over a month ago so I'm a little fuzzy on the tactile aspects, but I'm going to play them more this coming week so I'll report back later on that!

Spending some time with it, it's got alot of good things going on. The notes explode off of the g string, I'm digging that. The Dingwall 4-way switch really produces 3 unique and great tones. Fun to play for sure.

Was perusing the Dingwall website for the first time in quite a few years just yesterday, and either my eyes are going bad or they no longer list an in-depth description of their stock electronics packages plus the various optional preamps. Anyone know where to find those? They used to have a diagram of what all the knobs and switches did, and some Darkglass versus Aguilar [edit: not Aguilar, Glockenklang] comparisons. Am I crazy, or just blind?

Also, does anyone happen to have a current Dingwall price list? Thanks.

Oh, one does come with the basses. I'm pretty sure it's on the website somewhere, just need to go digging.
