I had to run over and check my 2011 Super J. The bottom of every knob appears to stay perfectly level with the top of the bass when rotated, so it's not a rule. My Z2 has a tiny bit of variance along the bottom of the knobs, but the posts are all at right angles with the body, and it takes a very, very close look (<12") and attention to the micrometer-level variance to notice it. This appears to be due to the knob casting and trimming mentioned in the video and not anything to do with the mounting, which seems to be @Snowglo's issue. Sheldon may chime in on this one, as it seems very odd.

Now, I do have a Steinberger Q4 with a bent volume knob that wobbles when you turn it, but that's the doing of the older child.

That doesn’t sound right to me. None of the Dingwalls that I have owned or played (including several Supers) have ever had anything I’d call wonky.

I would call the shop. They should take good care of you.

I will take a close look at the trimming, but I don’t believe that’s the issue. Seems one side of the knob is nice and parallel with the PG...spin it a tad and I can see a bit of the brass insert. Sure, I could trim them both up a bit, however that would leave a sizable gap between the knob and PG. Again, I will definitely take a closer look. Thanks!

Sounds like you have standard sized knobs on metric shafts (or vice versa). I changed a pot on my passive ABZ to a stacked pot to support a preamp and I had to buy a 6mm knob as the original didn't fit well and behaved as you described.

I'm sure you'll be taken care of. Dingwall has fantastic customer support.

The 'knob wobble' on my most recent bass is very minor, my older Super J was much more pronounced but I've fiddled with it to make it better.
If it's much worse than this try re-seating the knob, there is a little adjustment room usually. Also check to make sure the shaft isn't bent of course:

Hello Dingwall Owners. I would like to say hi and be a part of this community. I've owned an NG2, NG3 and now a D Roc. Gassing for a Super PJ 4! Do they make them with the P split reversed like the Spectors, because that would be cool!

Welcome aboard! The split-P's are only offered in standard configuration.

Did you sell off your NG's to get the D-Roc?

I'm not up on what they'll do with the split pickup, but I'm sure someone here will know. If not, I'd contact the Dingwall people and ask if the reverse is a easy option or not.

I did sell the previous NG's to purchase other basses. Then I sold those and bought the D Roc. I always liked the NG's, but when this passive and light d roc came out I had to have it. I wanted to reduce the fuss in the bass, and use pedals to do what I want for tones. Something just simple about this, but it's not a passive bass like all the "vintage" sounding ones. It's just a cool mix of modern, tone, power, playability that I hadn't found in other basses.

Of the ones I played I’d stick with my Ibanez over them. Fit and finish vs price point the IBBY won. The Marusuzycks often have a look factor but definite playability was meh.

Yeah, my Afterburner1INeverShouldHaveSold and my Super P are both passive w/ simple layouts. I actually like having both options at hand. Either the convenience of EQ close at hand for quick adjustments...or the simplicity of a basic vol/tone setutp.

I'm starting to lean towards passive as well. I feel my pedals and head do a better job of dialing up the tone in my head.
