You can listen to them with an older SJ hereChatted with @Selta a bit and placed an order for some Payson Medium Scale Light Gauge strings based on my usual preference for GHS Balanced Nickel Lights on my Jazz basses. I’m hoping these Paysons are a little closer to that vibe than the Dingnwall nickels that came on the bass, which are excellent but perhaps have a little too much zing up top for my taste. Going to leave them on until they mellow and then try the Paysons for the same length of time and then throw the GHS BNs on it last. That should paint a nice picture of what I like on this bass.
Also, after a few hours of woodshedding today the fanned frets are completely inconsequential to fretting. I don’t even think about it anymore. That was fast!

Wow this one is a looker. How does it feel compared to the other two? Does it take effort to switch between them?
Kudos to Dingwall for kicking the stagnent bass guitar color offerings (lack of really) of all the others in the arse! Beautiful bass and gorgeous color!
I got the package during my lunch hour and spent the whole time playing the bass hooked up to my Darkglass Element headphone amp.
The main reason I went for the Super series is because it has a 35" to 32" scale (from B - G). I've got some painful tendonitis in my left wrist and I wanted to see if the the shorter scale of the higher strings would help it. For that hour, I was able to play it pretty comfortably without any issues. I'm hoping I'll be able to sustain that for longer periods.
Having never played multiscale before, my biggest concern was "would I be able to get used to it". Funny enough, if I don't look at the fingerboard, my fingers automatically go to the right place. If I look at it, I have to think.
After about 30 minutes I was playing chords, harmonics, pretty much everything without issue. My brain will get used to it eventually.
The FBass is a 33" scale and the MTD has an awesomely thin, easy playing neck. No issues at all switching between them.
I'm hoping this will be the holy trinity that allows me to play and have great sound without pain. I'll provide updates as I spend more time with the Dingwall, but so far I'm impressed. The build quality is similar to my NYC Sadowskys and the finish is one of the nicest I've owned in any bass ever.

Yeah! Fiesta Red is one of my absolute favorite colors and Dingwall knocked this out of the park. It's the very best version of that color I've ever seen in person and feels very durable with no discernable defects anywhere. Serious kudos to them.
Did my first string change and ended up with strings that are a little long and you end up with a wrap alongside another wrap at the bottom of the tuning post. Is there a rule of thumb for the additional lengthiest the tuner to cut? I looked at the Dingwall video and it didn't show cutting the string. I went with the space between two tuners and thought that would be ok since the tuners are closer together than on other basses that I have.
I just use the string I took off to gauge where to cut.
I just eyeball about 2 1/2 ish inches beyond the tuning post.

So your in Nashville, eh? With a brand new Dingwall bass and some Darkglass gear? Now you just need to find Mr. Mustaine there, somewhere, and tell him you want the open bass player slot in his band.
Yeah, the tuning post acts like it's tapered, but it looks straight to me. Maybe it's just the headstock angle?
