Wait, are there people today who use a mouse with their computer?

Yep -- I'm one of them.

I tolerate a mouse now 'cuz I'm not tied to a computer like I was in the IT world years ago (and I loved trackballs!)

I've spent my last 30 years in high tech and I know there are one or two people who insist on having a mouse, but my guess would have been 80+% trackpad and most of the rest with track balls, 3D track balls, touch screens, etc. I can think of one single coworker who has a mouse...
Admittedly, I haven't been to an office since February of last year, but still.
Very, very surprised. Mice are just such a horrible way to deal with a pointer.

Standard office fare is still tower/mouse/keyboard.

If I want otherwise, I have to get my own and bring it. I'm in a building with about 80 people, can't think of any right now besides two with their own track balls and anyone with a laptop has a built in pad.

A couple of my co-workers also moved to trak-ball setups instead of using a computer mouse to help carpal tunnel situations. Just another option for you as well.

If it was my right (mouse) hand thumb that was giving me problems I’d look into it, but it’s actually my left hand thumb.

I don’t use a desktop very much, but when I do, the mouse makes my right hand numb in no time.

I’d much rather poke at my phone with one finger.

I had a track ball at one point, but I think my kid got it. I should find another.

My big issue with desk work (not that i work at a desk much) is sitting for any period of time. Never been good at sitting still, and it will irritate my back.

I built my desk to standing height. If I want to sit for a bit, I have a heavy duty drafting chair.

Works great for practicing too, since I’m not banging the bass into things on the desk.

Less screen time is my goal, but the computer has worked its way into the practice routine.

It’s just too easy to get distracted. Check the wind, peek at TB, the YouTube rabbit hole, Ivan’s new video...

Next thing I know I’ve learned a BG’s tune or Dua Lipa is stuck in my head. Great stuff Ivan!

At work I use a mouse and do a ton of 10 key(don’t ask). That combination was killing my right hand whenever my gig load would tick-up. I forced myself to use the mouse with my left hand and it’s been working great for years…it’s also a deterrent for any of my coworkers using my machine.

Nice AB2 for sure. But at $5300 USD... damn. Sure, skip the wait, get some rare woods.... but I dunno. That'd be a tough sell for me at that price... especially given what I've been getting for offers on my AB1s of similar vintage lol

So my ABZ5’s tone knob has a persistent scratchy pot.

I’ve applied some DeoxIT D100L (carefully with the brush applicator) to the pot.

After about a week or so, the scratchy starts making a comeback.

Short of emptying a bottle of DeoxIT into the pot, any other possible solutions?

I'd just replace it. I'm also just generally not a fan of using much DeoxIT, so if it didn't really help the first time, I'd move on to replacing, personally.
