The color is like a nice strawberry ice cream. It’s just right—some shell pink is really pale, some of it has a weird tan/orange brown undertone, but they nailed this one.

They used to include the exact weight on a card but I guess they don’t do that any longer. But it’s under 9 lbs. You all know they don’t neck dive. The new gigbag and accessory bag (lunch box?) are insanely nice, too.

Pinky and Orange Creamsicle over there will be with me until I die.

We may get to mead eventually. I have the honey to do it. Given the going rate for honey is 8$ per pound this year the hives will be north of 800$ honey value. With the meagre 30lbs last year that gets me about half way to break even. ;)

We have a TON of wild black raspberries growing in the yard, but I'm trying to add some cultivated varieties as well (I make jam, etc. too). My idea is to fill the 'weedy rough' of the property's perimeter with plants that are edible or useful so the whole property acts as a 'garden' for us.

On topic... Dingwall flame-top that's Honey-to-Saskatoon-berry-burst in the same vibe as the classic mid 00's Afterburner 1 Honey Amberburst finish would be excellent.

Extremely familiar, but definitely not mine. What year was this photo taken?

Ya'know, if ya ever wanna sell honey... please let me know xD I'm starting to make mead, so I could use some really good honey for that!

Congratulations! Two fine axes right there!

I'd totally consider it, but I'm guessing shipping honey from the East Coast to you would make it cost prohibitive rather than you finding someone in your back yard. I'm sure you've got an area/county beekeeping group/club that could totally set you up. They're all over the place.

Opinions solicited: P-tone pickup in the neck position on a Super-J versus standard split-P pickup on a Super P?
Extra credit: P-tone pickup in the bridge position on a Super-J or Super-PJ versus standard soapbar there? Does anyone even do that?

In a perfect world, I'd buy each of the above and do a sound test... make my Friday afternoon interesting!

Split P 100% in the neck. From my non apples to apples experience. The P tone isn’t quite the same as the Split P. Doesn’t have the same “wool”. My only real world experience with that though is a P tone in a Z2 neck position vs my SP vs an SJP.
I do intent to get a P tone for my SJ though as I’ve really been all about the P lately but I do believe it will be a compromise.

I’d think to go with a traditional PJ set up a SF2 in the bridge position would be where the money is at.

@BurningSkies has a P tone in his bridge position PJ and can attest the best I’d think on the whole fender Blacktop idea. (2P pups)

Yeah, I like the P-Tone in the bridge it's a totally viable and reasonable option and also the levels of both pickups are well matched. Keep in mind that due to the placement of the pickup in that 'Jazz Bridge' location it won't sound like you've got two pickups with the same tone...it comes across more as if it were a cross of a split coil P but with the treble/mid and cut of a jazz bridge pickup. When using both pickups in series you still get that beefy low-mid forward series tone we love in our Dingwall 4-way switches.

Last I heard the P-Tone bridge was either the or one of the 'standard' choices for the bridge pickup on Super-P's so I'm not the only one who thinks it's a winner.

I found that an FDV to my ears didn't balance nearly as well for level or tone with split coil as did the P-Tone.
