Yeah, I'd stick with the surgical tubing. I think it's the best solution.

True story. I had a bass that kept showing up in my dreams across a few months in late 2019 and early 2020.

All my gig stress dreams or whatever good & bad this dark green P was in them (in a beat up 60's style Fender case no less).

After one particularly vivid dream, I got out of bed first thing in the morning (before shower or coffee or anything), sat down at my computer and in about 5 minutes had emailed the order along with all the specs laid out (2 emails later it was official and I had given my deposit).

I was eyeing this one I linked above and another one with a pau ferro fretboard and like a red burst colour, I think?
I like the blue one a bit more, methinks. I love my new bass but the lack of a B string kinda bothers me a bit. Not to mention a freaking dingwall popping up in my dreams as well, sigh...

I suspect we will see them eventually but I also suspect it'll be 4-5 years down the road considering the D-Roc 5 standards are only just showing up in the wild now.
With that sort of wait I'd just spend the extra $1200-1500 on a used Canadian one

No rush on it...but yeah, eventually I'll move it on.

I used to have that exact bass but fretted. Great sounding and playing bass but, dang, were they heavy. Mine was well north of 10lbs. Apparently BTB's motto is "big bod, big tone" which explains the weight.

Anybody who’s considering getting a 6 way custom switch I’d highly recommend it! I put them in my Z3-6 and NG3-6 and WOW! Every setting is distinctive an usable. You get pretty much everything you’d get from the 3X and D-Roc switches - P, J, MM, grit, clean, huge, modern, vintage it’s all available with the turn of a dial.

Yes. Me and another member/friend, I’ll let him speak for himself, had Mo make us up some switches. Here’s my settings.

1. Neck Solo
2. Middle solo
3. All on per dingwall
4. Jazz series
5. Mm series
6. Mm parallel

I think it’s pretty much the same settings just in different positions except maybe the middle solo’d on yours and the bridge on mine. I’m guessing mine is the standard “Mo” configuration.
Position 6)fully clockwise all 3 on - bridge +middle parallel neck series.5) Pre - neck solo 4) Jazz - neck + bridge parallel. 3) MM series - Middle and bridge. 2) MM parallel- Middle and bridge 1) Bridge solo.

Some of the recent discussion around using Dingwalls for non-metal genres caught my eye. I put together a quick bass cover of Michael McDonald - I Keep Forgettin'. It makes a great demo to drive this point home and made for some great bonding time with my new 4-string color-shift ABZ.

Bonus points if you notice the other 2 Dingwalls in the rack.

Quite. But with the right machine its possible
